Padres vs. Dodgers
Quote from Randy Manese on August 11, 2020, 1:57 pmFor today's game, got to be able to hit that curve that Stripling drops in or at least foul it off and force him to go with his harder stuff. We took way too many strikes just watching that curve drop in. If we do that and Richards has a game he is capable of pitching, we have a chance to make this an interesting game. Go Padres!

Quote from Brian Connelly on August 11, 2020, 3:59 pmProfar starting yet again vs RHP (batting 9th) despite <.200 vs RHP last year.... in LF. Pham DH, which he has 3? 4? times "already"...
Credence for "can we live w/o Olivares" if we have Profar & Mateo to play OF" theory?

Quote from Randy Manese on August 11, 2020, 3:59 pmLooks like we're going with the same lineup as last night, however, the Dodgers have taken out their 2 LH hitters for 2 more seasoned vets, Pollock and Hernandez, and swapped out their catcher. Thought they might put Mejia in for Hedges but Mejia has been behind the plate with Davies on the mound, so probably see him tomorrow. Richards will be tested but I hope he can at least get into the 6th with a lead before having to come out. Looking forward to this match-up. Go Padres!

Might also make some worry that having Pham DH two games in a row might signal an arm problem? Or is it just that Profar is a better LF defensively?

My eyes tell me that isn’t it.
Someone please explain the love for Profar to me.
IMO he shouldn’t be playing every day.

Quote from MrPadre19 on August 11, 2020, 7:19 pmIf Profar was half as good as Cronenworth maybe I could understand it.
Wait.....maybe Profar is “half” as good as Rake Cronenworth.....😁

I hardly got any sleep last night and we have how many more of these right in a row?
Four more I believe....
Yikes
Maybe tonight we can have a 6 run lead in the 7th so I don't have to watch till last pitch?
Yeah right!
Close enough...5 run lead in the 7th.
I’m signing off....come on Bullpen!

Quote from Randy Manese on August 11, 2020, 10:27 pmPadres didn't give away any strikes today to Stripling and Manny sat on his curveball and drove it out! Tatis' two throws, one to nail Taylor at the plate and another to end a DP were cannon shots that possibly changed the complexion of this game. He did get picked off and you could see how upset he was in the dugout - a learning experience even for a budding superstar. Guerra got some bad breaks of his own doing but you can see where he is going to be a contributor down the road. All in all a very satisfying win! Go Padres!
