Padres vs Diamondbacks September 15-18

Agree that watching the current edition of the Padres … they have lost a lot of the enthusiasm they had in the early season. Maybe they are reacting to being a .500 team after the hot start to the season. Clearly the team is not filled with cheer leaders. Not negative type mind you … just not outwardly enthusiastic.
Evolved into a team of Machado outward personalities.
I guess it is hard to be that enthusiastic cheerleader if you are not performing … and most are not. Not sure anyone will follow the lead if someone tries and it comes out forced.

I think trying to blame Brdar is too easy. I'm not saying I think he's doing a good job, but I believe we have had 8 different hitting coaches in 8 seasons now (Easley lasted 2 seasons, but we had a year with 2 hitting coaches). We've had the same problems under most all of them. Some years it might have been fair to blame the struggles on a lack of talent to work with. That's not the case this year. To me I think it's an issue at the organizational level. Clearly they want to build a group of selective hitters that work good ABs, drive up pitch counts, and get on base. They have succeeded in that regard.
What they haven't succeeded in doing often enough is scoring runs. They get guys on base, but they can't bring them in. They can't seem to shift out of the selective approach when the situation calls for it. Some of that has to be on the hitting coach, but I also think it runs deeper than that.

I am done discussing our short comings on the game thread .. Thus team needed Tatis so bad (for that enthusiasm) sort of the Ying to Manny's Yang... it is unbalanced in that way and it was put together in that way by AJP and then PED happened...
Time foe all of us to send positive vibes and JUJU to this team..

I’ve seen the blame placed on Preller,Melvin and the hitting coach.
I haven’t seen anyone blaming the players themselves.
Seems odd to me…..

Well Drury has come back ready to rock just like I was hoping for. Bumgarner seems to be the one guy we can consistently touch up.

Oh Doctor Soto 2 hits.. and hit 2 opposite field deep balls one for a gift double but a great sign tonight. No ground outs or pop ups..an absolute Lazer to right center and 2 very deep balls to right.. the one out did hit his shoe but whatever.. hoping he stays hot..

Padres are 4 - 0 against Bumgarner an 6 - 0 against Cincy . Only 13 games above .500 overall . We need to face only Bum the rest of this year and we'll be fine .
