Padres vs. D-Backs

PreviousPage 4 of 5Next

You have got to be kidding me....the name is different but still a can of gas.....DAMN that just sucks

This Bullpen.....🤬

Going into the season I would've never thought bullpen would be a huge weakness. Preller did such a good job adding pieces, It all falls on the players not performing

This one really hurts, I need to take a couple of days off to cool down

Where is the bullpen that was supposed to be ”elite”? Plus no clutch hitting from anyone.

====

Does not look good for Pham ... had to be serious for the trainer to say he needs to come out of the game mid AB.

IF it is a hamate .... that should wrap his season.

Five days ago we were on top of the world.

Now I see Urias’s batting average and Franmil hitting 2 bombs in a game and we are in 4th place in our own Division.

If we don’t go on a good winning streak pretty quick we are in real trouble.

Especially considering we’ve suddenly got the injury bug and have lost our Closer and possibly our left fielder.

After today Padres drop to a losing record and out of a playoff slot. Statistically,

hitting (OPS) they rank 6th in the NL (playoff level) but not getting key hits

starting pitching (ERA) they rank 5th in the NL (playoff level)

relief pitching (ERA) they rank 14th ...stating the obvious the main problem and except for Pomeranz so far a team effort.

post game presser ... Tingler says Pham’s hand went numb and he is being evaluated now .... they tried to have Myers take some swings prior to the game but his neck/back pain made it clear he could not play (and could not PH in the game), so we may need to be concerned this is not a quick return.

Profar - Grisham - Naylor backed by Olivares and Mateo as the OF is a concern and not eager to see Almonte back.

No words.....

Bottom line to me is the organization needs to figure out why players who play here have difficulty performing while others who leave seem to instantly get better.

Watching the Yankees and it seems they have top performing youngsters all over the place.  While the Padres can’t seem to groom anyone!  Even Tatis Jr is a White Sox prospect.  Maybe the team needs to re-examine their minor league system and how they develop players because nobody gets better here.

Unfortunately, that's been Padre MO for years. Very seldom do home grown talent stay in SD and produce. Regardless of ownership group or management group, an eye for talent doesn't seem to be very keen.

How many of our top draftees/signees in the past, say, 10 years have been productive in San Diego? Obviously, players like Turner and Fried have turned into good baseball players but they are no longer here. Hunter Renfroe?

Forgot Jedd Gyorko!
