Padres vs. D-Backs

Padres have announced Davies will start Friday ... skipping the Lucchesi / Quantrill duo. No word on Saturday yet when it would be Paddack's turn ... but seems likely he works in normal rotation.
Open question as to what will happen to either Lucchesi or Quantrill during the cut to 28 plus opens the discussion of Patino getting into the starting rotation after the other starters cycle through.

Shook up the lineup today vs. LHP Alex Young. Pham leading off? We need to do something to get it rolling - maybe we need to bunt more! Beat the snakes!

Will be interesting to see Cronenworth at SS while Tatis DH. Plus seeing Tatis sitting in the 3rd spot might add some zest to the middle of the line-up.
Not sure about Pham lead-off given the way he is going ... but not really seeing strong alternatives either ... all roll the dice at this point.

If Quantrill can have a decent start of say 5 innings, just enough to get the win if the Pads are ahead and show he has command of the whole situation, it would go a long way to helping solidify this starting rotation that seems to be always searching for a number 5 starter.
I just hope the moment isn't too big for him......I'm sure he knows this is truly an "On the Job" interview moment for him tonight.

I find myself angry at our pitching but we aren’t scoring any runs!

So sorry Cal! You pitched well and the team let you down. How did our biggest strength instantly become our Achilles heel? What TF happened to our bullpen?
Our offense was always a question mark. Tatis, Pham and Machado were always supposed to be the only guys we could really count on. Pham and Machado have underachieved, Grisham, Hosmer and Cronenworth have overachieved. Basically it's been a push.
