PADRES VS. ASTROS

PreviousPage 2 of 9Next

I will give Richard's credit he is struggling  but he won't  give in. He will keep battling.  Can only hope all the men LOB will haunt the Astros , it always  seems  to haunt  us

Old school ... walk ... hit batter ... sacrifice bunt ... sacrifice fly ... result a go ahead run.

Not all HR ... time for some “small ball”.

The Padres first sac fly of the season.

Thats kind of amazing.

Come on guys....let’s get the bases loaded at least once tonight!

Well after being down on Guerra ... very good outing:

2 1/3 innings (one of his longest) ... 0 Hits ... 3 K ... and only 28 pitches (19 strikes).

Hopefully a good confidence builder and sign for the future.

It's  too bad Guerra didn't  start  pitching  a year earlier. He has great  stuff  with Good movement. He really could use 1  more  year with options . It will be tough  to keep him up all year next year.  I think he will have  to  be  traded in the off season maybe in a package. There should be a lot of interest in a guy that throws 100 . He really  looked  good  tonight, hope he can build  on it because heaven knows we need all the healthy arms we can get

Not to get too far ahead but who would be our closer tonight? Quantrill , Stammen , Hill ???

I don’t see any way they trade Guerra.

His value is in the chance he becomes a dominant reliever.

He has no track record so won’t have much value as a trade piece and should only get better and is inexpensive.

Tingler is pulling relievers too soon in my opinion. The more you use , the greater the chance at least 1 won't have it . Leave Strahm in for the rest of the inning , start stammen in thr 7th. I'm not sure who is left at this point. Terrified it could be Pagan.

Just not sure how you hide him next year with 26 man instead of 28

So again Tingler takes out a reliever who is pitching well because of the righty/lefty thing.

Very first hitter doubles.

Someone needs to tell him to stick with the guy who is actually pitching well instead of hoping the next guy also has it today.

As I type this the very next batter doubles!

Argh!

Stop taking out pitchers who are pitching well because of the arm they use!

Why do we need to hide him?

You use him in the bullpen.
