Also....we have guys like Naylor and Austin Allen who don't really have a position or even Mejia/Hedges.
I'd be OK trading any "one" of those three and keeping the other two.
And of course.....other pitching prospects or major league relievers.
For Thor I'd love to give up a package like Hedges "or" Mejia/Yates "or" Stammen,Gore + Quantrill + lower level prospect.
Wouldn't that be about right?
Gore and Mejia should not be included yet if ever

Gotta give up talent to get talent and they are still just prospects.
I thought the same but realized we aren't gonna get an Ace "major league" starter for relief pitchers and
low level prospects.
I would rather include Gore due to his distance to the majors rather than Lucchessi or Paddack or even Logan Allen.
Gore's only 19.....see Espinoza.
I'd be fine with swapping out Hedges with Mejia or not doing it at all...but if you want a realistic shot at an actual trade we're
gonna lose a couple top prospects.

We are not giving Gore. The Padres already said it. I wouldn't give up Gore either.

It only money but that is a ton for essentially one year max (2020) bet on an arm coming off TJ surgery. They must have a lot of confidence in his recovery from the surgery. Richard had his TJ last June 24th .... so 19-20 months until ST 2020 which should mean about 6 months of legit pitching work prior.
Will return for his age 31-32 season .... IF he can just rebound to his career numbers (3.54 ERA) he would vault to the top pitcher based on the performance levels of the current options.

Problem with Cleveland is: 1) Need an OF, 2) just traded Mejia to us, so don't need a C. This is why I'm so big on Thor; Pads can offer a better quality C than any other team, which Mets want/need.
Hard to see getting Segura, Leake, and Kluber without trading 2 of 3 of Myers, Renfroe, Reyes (plus a lot more)
I just think Kluber is a more dependable top of the rotation guy for us over the next 3 years.
He's had success both personally( Cy Young x 2) and from a team standpoint( World Series appearance) and he takes the mound every fifth day, for the last 5 or 6 years.
All that couldn't but help the young guys that will be soon flooding the roster in San Diego. Plus his contract is very affordable and I believe offers an out, if for some reason, he falls off the rail. And he should be in his prime for the duration of his deal.
As much as like Noah, I just think Corey is a better fit.
