Quote from Alex Tamayo on October 5, 2026, 8:32 amWell, about two months ago I gave up on the team making the playoffs, so, them, having the run they had, was really amazing, at least they are playing at home the next one or two games, like they say, If you are gonna go down, It better be at your own ball park, with your people.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on October 5, 2026, 9:52 amI can't be too upset with Stammen for trying to push Miller a little bit. I do think he might have over thought it a bit. With 2 lefties due up to start the 8th and 5 of the next 6 overall batting from the left side pushing Miller over Morejon is certainly a questionable choice. Maybe he was worried about Morejon facing Contreras again or thought he wouldn't be as effective after pitching 2 innings in game 1. Ultimately, it didn't work out, but trying to get 2 innings out of arguably the best reliever in the game isn't really a decision I have a problem with.
The bigger mistake to me was leaving him in after it was clear he was struggling with his command in the 9th. The balls to Yelich weren't close. Then he threw 3 straight balls to Frelick after having him down 1-2. I think that should have been the end of his night. There were plenty of mistakes and missed opportunities before the 9th inning though. We also get the luxury of judging in hindsight.
It just sucks that we're 1 out and a roof ball from potentially being up 2-0 heading home. If it were even 1-1 I would be feeling great right now.
