AAA: Allen; Quantrill; Paddack; Perdomo; ..... then one of Lamet if healthy; Diaz; Schlotens; Kennedy
AA: Baez; Lawson; Margevicus; Bachar .... then one of Avila; Ramirez; or one of the last AAA candidates drops down
that should leave a good group in LE.

Hoffy - sorry for the radio silence on this. Obviously, we got you the initial report. With the schedule a little more fluid than past years, we opted not to try to time a trip out, but we'll pick up a bunch of stuff in conjunction with the On Deck game next week for y'all.

Quote from fenn68 on October 1, 2018, 3:32 pmAny. insight on the new AA affiliation?
Oops! Bill Center is reporting that the Padres entered AA agreement with Amarillo in the Texas League. Interesting note Amarillo is apparently at 3500 ft elevation which should be a change from the Wolff.

Quote from fenn68 on October 4, 2018, 7:36 amMLBPipeline out with their year-end update for the Top 100 prospects:
2. Tatis .... #1 SS
13. Gore ... #2 LHP
26 Mejia ... #2 Catcher
27. Urias... #1 2B
35. Paddack
46. Morejon ... #6 LHP
57. Baez
76. Allen ... #8 LHP
83. Patino
92. Weathers ... #10 LHP
If I recall correctly that pushes out Quantrill and Espinosa (now #10 / #11 with the Padres).
As an observation, that Padres' Top 10 is impressive especially when considered by position with Tatis and Urias being #1 prospects for their position ... Mejia and Gore #2 for their positions. Add that the Padres seem to have a bias for LHP with 4 of the Top 10 LHP. Paddack, Baez, and Patino did not make a Top 10 for RHP but that may well be the most stocked position so would not consider that a knock.
A good news for 2019 and clearly for 2020 considering that we should see in 2019 Tatis, Mejia, Urias, Paddack plus a good chance Allen. Nice graduation of C - 2B - SS - RHP - LHP with high potential.

Quote from LynchMob on October 11, 2018, 7:52 amChris Paddack, Travis Radke, and Franmil Reyes received nominations for this year’s MILBY’s Awards. Paddack received nominations for both MiLB’s Top Starting Pitcher and Breakout Prospect of the Year; Radke as the Top Reliever of the Year, and Reyes for Top Home Run of the Year. The Padres as an organization were also nominated for Best Farm System as well. Fan voting will run through 24 OCT, so vote now.

Quote from David Jay on October 11, 2018, 2:23 pmA few transaction updates:
Rod Boykin has retired.
Matt Szczur and Carter Capps have both elected free agency.
The following are eligible for minor league free agency. (I think there are others, but don't have the full list yet):
Forrestt Allday, Jonathan Aro, Carlos Belen (Would bet he'll sign a contract quickly, but will be interesting to see if anyone outbids), Dusty Coleman, Allen Craig, Diego Goris (Yes, he's still suspended), Erik Johnson, Shane Peterson, Emmanuel Ramirez, Webster Rivas, Seth Simmons, River Stevens

The Padres farm system is stacked. Here’s what we learned in 2018.

Quote from MrPadre19 on October 17, 2018, 12:54 pmSo what should we make of Buddy Reeds season over all?
He was "so good" at LE I almost want to just completely ignore his time in SA.
But he was "so bad" at SA I'm not sure I can.
I realize advancing to AA can be an adjustment....but he "really" struggled there.
What do yo guys think?

Quote from hoffy51 on October 17, 2018, 5:01 pmHe is doing just ok in the Arizona League. But I don't think we'll know until he has a full season at AA next year. We'll just have to see if he was merely making an adjustment to another level? Or that's really him!
Does anyone know when Tatis will be able to play again?
