Deja vu all over again!  The Dominican Summer League Padres Gold team is just crushing it!  Don't know if their pitching is as strong as last year, but the hitting/on base percentage/base stealing is impressive.  I would have promoted Bastidas over a couple of those sent to Arizona and top prospect Hernandez looks like the real thing on offense but has got to get a lot better on the defensive end - may have to move him to the OF or 2b.  We should know in a couple of more weeks if they can continue this pace since they actually started slow, around .500, then exploded to their 13-2 record.  Another championship?

Actually, the Brown team is getting surprising productivity out of their offense but the pitching is atrocious.  They'll be lucky to win a third of their games.

I just hope it's really a slight injury and not the typical downplaying of something more serious that the team tends to put out. We went from them saying Campusano could potentially tough it out and keep playing to him being gone 6 weeks and counting. They said Pivetta might be able to make his next start, but they were keeping him out as a precaution. Now he's on the 60 day and still doesn't seem to have made much progress towards a return. We went from Musgrove supposedly having an outside shot to return for the playoffs last year to who knows when we'll see him again. Laureano went from a minor initial report to likely being done for the season. I find it hard to take any injury information put out by the team at face value.

As expected it looks like there were a bunch of promotions today. This is what I've gathered from our own Madfriars team and some other reports.

Lan-Hong Tsu, Zack Qin, Jordan Valenzuela and Jefferson Villabona are headed to Lake Elsinore.

Ryan Wideman, Kerrington Cross, Luke Cantwell, Winyer Chourio, Bryan Balzer, Will Koger, Bernard Jose, and Nick Falter are going to Fort Wayne.

Jake Cunningham, Clay Edmondson and Tucker Musgrove are on their way to San Antonio.

Andrew Moore and Romeo Sanabria will be joining El Paso.

There were also a few demotions with Isaiah Lowe sent down to Lake Elsinore and a few guys sent back to Arizona.
