That’s awesome!

Probably start there next year as well and then to AA during the 24’ season if all goes well I would guess.

Wow!

That's HUGE!!!!!

How many games left does Fort Wayne have?

Surprise move since Salas had a tough series against Modesto.  Prior to that, however, he was player of the week so maybe Padres thought they want to challenge him at Hi A and see how he fares in these last 30 games before the playoffs.

I'm a little bummed I didn't make it out to Lake Elsinore to see him. I was going to try to catch one of Lesko's starts to see both of them. I'm excited to see how he finishes out the season at the higher level.

In other prospect promotion news I just saw that Homer Bush Jr is leading off for The Storm tonight.

MLB Pipeline just put out their updated rankings. Salas is all the way up to 5. Merrill is at 9, Snelling is at 65 and Lesko is at 68. There was a lot of movement on our top 30 list too.

Although Salas had a great July, he seems to be fading a bit in August.  Got to remember he's still a teenager and not a fully grown man, so there might be stamina issues that impact his strength and ability to impact the ball down the stretch.  For that reason, I'm not putting him all the way up to 5 yet, but rather behind Merrill, maybe at 15.  Snelling is way under-rated and possibly within the top 50; Lesko looks about right given he's still got a ways to go coming back from TJ.

As I surmised, Mazur brought in for 50 pitches (52 today) for the build-up back to a starter but with innings limitations; expect the same with Iriarte in his next appearance.

Another strong performance by Baez, but he has to keep the curve and change-up over the plate and in the mix because it looks like his FB is fairly straight.  He does, however, do a good job keeping it low or trying to throw the high strike.  If he does miss in the zone with the FB can get hit a long way.  Hope he continues his growth.  Good job by the Lake Elsinore pitching staff to get solid performances out of Pinales and Reyes after neither pitches very well in the ACL; keeping them in the hunt for the 2nd half division title.

On the other end, Lizarraga was all over the place and had very poor command.  Has had health issues this year (IL twice) and this has got to have hurt his rhythm and development.  Look for him to repeat Hi A next year after getting healthy and stronger over the winter.

Baseball America also revealing their mid-season rankings and Salas is at 6, Merrill at 14, Snelling and Lesko in the 40’s.

Lesko probably pitched his best game of the year so far.  Consistently around the plate with a 63% strike rate.  Had all his pitches going and got through 4 IP.

Samuel Zavala added to MLB Pipeline Top 100 after Brandon Pfaadt's graduation.

Now let's send Pfaadt back to the minors.
