Guesses on who is TRADED before opening day
Quote from Brian Connelly on November 28, 2019, 9:52 amQuote from Randy Manese on November 27, 2019, 11:05 pmWell, 2 of 5 on my list were traded today. The next big trade should be to dump Myers if we are truly going after that TOR starter but that might cost us another one of the two remaining players on the list. Still think Boston or Cleveland will be a future trade partner.
Good call Randy! I do think Urias traded definitely decreases the likelihood of Arias (& France) being traded. Tatis/Machado nice luxury at SS, but need 2 bench INF guys down the road. Arias projects to at least that if not more.

Quote from fenn68 on November 28, 2019, 10:30 amWho develops is always tricky but “down the road” is promising. Clearly Arias, Edwards, and Abrams can with the Padres by 2021-22 with more than bench level potential so even if they level off ... quality bench options.
If looking at pure (but quality) bench options Miller seems to fit the profile perfectly and could be around late 2020. SS/2B ... good glove ... good bat ... apparently that high baseball IQ ... lives baseball ... just maybe not the ceiling of the others.
Don’t sleep on Eguy Rosario who seemed to get it together (at a very young age still) in LE late last season.
With all those options ... and Machado / Tatis locked in ... 2B and the two reserve INF roles look to be strong by 2022. Suggests that in 2020 bridge options (at a lower cost) is the better option putting resources into OF upgrades.

Quote from Randy Manese on November 29, 2019, 9:25 amWhat if the player to be named later or cash to Milwaukee was WIL MYERS! More than likely it will be cash or a lower level prospect, but we do a lot of dreaming on this forum so why not? Brewers lose Moose and Thames (meaning they have holes at 1st and 3rd) and have 34 Million tied up to Braun and Cain at 17 million each. They also have to pay Hader in arbitration and need starting pitching. What if they agree to take Myers (at 1b/LF) and we front load some of the salary, say 10 million this year and 5 for the next two years? Myers should hit well in Milwaukee and makes them slightly younger. Next year Braun comes off the books in 2021 and they probably will try to move Cain before free agency (2021) if they want to try to retain Yelich. A lot of ifs, but that gives us about $12 million to play around with this year even if we have to throw in another another prospect like Austin Allen. Pretty absurd, huh, but one can dream!

Quote from BoosterSD on November 29, 2019, 9:34 amI think that MIL moves either Huira or Braun to 1B after seeing Urias play SS. Plus, they still have Travis Shaw as well that is only 1B and 3B. So as much as I think that would be great, I dont think MIL would be taking Myers as the player TBNL.

Or we can hope that they realize that they have a flawed team with a lot of holes, and poorly spent money and need to do a reload and they can trade us Yelich!! 🙂
