I assume Jr. will get some time in the minors before reappearing in SD?
Probably Elsinore????

Fernando Tatis Jr. (hamstring) will begin his minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo on Monday.
It's not yet known how many minor league rehab games he'll require before he's deemed ready to rejoin the Padres. The 20-year-old phenom was hitting .300/.360/.550 with six homers, 13 RBI and six stolen bases in his first 27 big league games before landing on the injured list on April 29. The Padres have gone 14-17 without Tatis in the lineup after beginning the season 16-12.

Quote from BoosterSD on June 2, 2019, 9:56 pmJust long enough to extend his service one more year is my guess. I am surprised to that they sent him to AA instead of EP to play with Urias.

I think both the IL stint and the rehab count as ML service time, so not helping in creating that extra year of control. They would need to officially option Tatis to the MiL for a couple of weeks for the control factor to kick in.
I didn't check EP / AMA schedules but sometimes a factor in placement is whether the team is going to be at home or on the road ... usually they prefer the affiliate to be at home for better monitoring and treatments if necessary. Might see the rehab start in AMA and move to EP depending on each team's schedule.
Padres need him back and healthy as soon as possible.

Easy guys! See how he is tomw... I'm sure he's fine, but let's think 10 year perspective, not "tomorrow".
Would love to see Tatis, Cordero & maybe even Urias for the Nats series, but there are some roster moves & SP workarounds coming too... next week should be interesting.

Quote from MrPadre19 on July 2, 2019, 2:03 pmI was thinking about this today.
Tatis is twice as good as I thought he would be this time last year.
I don't think that has ever been the case of a Padre prospect in my lifetime.
