And that he gets smarter.....and wiser! I know, hard for a 23 year old but A BIG burden sits on his shoulders( 340 millions worth!)
Kid needs to figure out how to be him, AND stay on the field.

Quote from WindsorUK on April 19, 2022, 11:09 amI love the fact he was playing footie in the outfield with the other guys....and took a spill!
Brilliant. This dude's coming back with his hair on fire- and playing ALL OUT! Sooner the better.

Quote from LynchMob on May 18, 2022, 9:47 pmSS Fernando Tatis Jr. (left wrist fracture)
Expected return: June
Tatis underwent surgery to repair the scaphoid bone in his left wrist on March 16. While the Padres are on the road, Tatis is at the team's complex in Peoria, Ariz., going through a series of workouts. He's begun fielding light grounders that are rolled to him. But he's yet to bear the full impact of a baseball on his glove hand. When he plays catch at any extended distance, Tatis only throws the ball, while a Padres staffer catches it. Tatis is eligible to return from the IL in early June. But the Padres acknowledge no timetable will be clear until he begins swinging a bat, which has yet to happen. -- AJ Cassavell (Last updated: May 18)

Quote from MrPadre19 on June 22, 2022, 12:56 pmThere is video of Tatis hitting off a Tee going around Twitter.
I guess that is OK despite him not being released to swing a bat.....officially?

Quote from fenn68 on June 27, 2022, 10:05 amTatis is still in that TBD status. On June 13 and the imaging that OK’d him to throw / field but not hit. At that time it was reported that another imaging would happen in about a week … it did not and now it is two weeks. Not sure what that implies but the timeline seems to be sliding.
Guessing the Padres want to be sure that when he begins to hit again … his wrist is unquestionably fully recovered and virtually no chance of further complications / setbacks. Then even when he is cleared … maybe a slow walk up to full speed on an everyday basis. Losing an extra week or two in July is better than losing August / September due to re-injury.
So, Aug 1 +/- seems reasonable.

Except that he "is" hitting....off a tee.
And dry swinging.
So seems they would at least confirm that progress?

Quote from 3fingersplit on June 27, 2022, 4:47 pmThe worry I have is not so much the impact of the swing but the torque trying to stop a swing...that little bone has to have a "Full Union" heal and until it does the pain is terrible. Surgically repaired is a 12 week plus injury and that's if it actually heals correctly. There is a reason the Padres have been keeping this quite.
I'm not holding my breath as I've had the same damn break in the left wrist and it still hurts swinging a bat to this day.
BTW- I sure hope he gets back when it's right
