King showed some major resolve here in the 2nd! Gotta love it.

He may be done for the night already though with 50 pitches thrown in just 2 innings. Wouldn't mind Schildty giving his young athletic hurler another inning.

Bogey time!!!

After getting a HORRIBLE strike call, Xander takes it yard.

Dude has REALLY turned it around. Shame it took him 2 1/2 years to figure it out but I'm ecstatic he's finally producing.

F**king Peralta.....a balk, then a bad decision....ugh....

Is Buckner known for a being horrible balls and strikes guys? He is brutal!!!

Man, we leave 2 guys on almost every inning.

I think last night we stranded 12?

At some point, clutch has to be something other than a part of these guys transmissions!

LFGSD!!!

I thought we already knew he Is bad at It, Suárez was in a tough position because of a couple bad calls.

Suarez blew a save. But, the Padres win on a walkoff by new Padre Laureano in extra innings. They remain 3 games back.

King only gave up 1 run before Peralta came in. He balks and fails to throw the ball home.

Let's take the rubber match.

GO PADRES!

Past week has been "interesting" on the offense ... fans should thank Preller and his deals for keeping the Padres competitive ... and should be a bit concerned about the collective under performance by the top of the order. Consider in the last 6 games the OPS for the line-up:

.513 ... Tatis (1 RBI, 10K in 23 AB)

.517 ... Arraez (1 RBI, good AVG but poor OBP/SLG)

.637 ... Machado (0 RBI)

.504 ... Merrill

1.085 ... Bogaerts

1.000 ... O'Hearn

  .970 ... Laureano

1.008 ... Cronenworth

  .938 ... Fermin

Considering .710 is about average for a player ... Padres have been at both extremes. Both extremes SHOULD move towards the norm ... we just never know the pace and which players will remain the outliers in 2025. With only 6-7 weeks to go ... ????

Having the four at the top of the order (the main stars) all going cold (very cold) at the same time is frustrating. Tie that in with the ongoing slump for Tatis and some concern. Having this happen in a short playoff series will be a killer vs better pitching that curtails the hot hitting of the bottom of the order.

The deals for bats, yes.

The deal with the A's, not sure about that.
