Around the League...non Padres
Quote from MrPadre19 on February 6, 2021, 2:28 pmNext offseason going to be interesting for the Dodgers.
Kershaw and Seager both free agents.
Not sure how they could afford them both.
Of course they “could” afford them.....but luxury taxes are gonna start to get extreme if they keep over the threshold.
Too bad we aren’t in the Central where the teams at least pretend to try to not overspend.

Quote from BoosterSD on February 8, 2021, 7:01 amMy condolences to the family of Pedro Gomez, who passed away last night at the age of 58. Over the years here in the Valley, I have had the opportunity to meet many individuals that have risen to certain levels in professional baseball because of officiating travel club ball. And I can tell you, Pedro was a wonderful, genuine, great man, and one of the better ones that I have met. I truly enjoyed my interactions with him on the field, and my heart hurts for his family today. R.I.P. Mr. Gomez.

Quote from BoosterSD on February 11, 2021, 6:14 amSo one of our past buddies is on the move again. Franchy Cordero is on the move to BOS in a 3 way deal where KC is getting Bennintendi.

Franchy will probably get injured on the plane ride to Boston.

Ouch! Hope he can finally stay healthy so can see what he can actually do on the field!

Quote from LynchMob on February 17, 2021, 6:16 pmAn interesting opinion from a "fantasy baseball expert" ... re: Trevor Bauer
JD BOLICK PAN: A notoriously thin-skinned personality moving from the Midwest to a major media market would be enough to send alarm bells ringing, but there are many other on-field reasons to believe that Bauer will not come close to earning his contract. His .215 BABIP allowed was second lowest among qualified starters and far beyond anything he had ever posted before, while his 90.9% left on-base percentage also explains his career best ERA. But the biggest red flag of all is the fact that Bauer faced one of the weakest groups of opposing batters of any pitcher in 2020, with only one regular season start coming against an offense outside of the bottom ten.

That was the view I had ... not that he is not good but maybe not as good as his two peak seasons. Both AL and NL Central have some real clunkers of offense.
His overall stats may still be good with a lot of games vs COLO, SF, AZ but he may get a shock pitching IN COLO and AZ ... places good for hitters.
Think LAD are a bit lucky that he really will be only theirs for 2 years before he opts out.
