Around the League...non Padres
Quote from ultratvfan on October 28, 2024, 9:28 pmI can't help noticing that every Dodger pitcher has been throwing very hard every game since game 4 of the NLDS without ever slowing down. Isn't that unusual? Is as if they were juiced up on PEDS. I have heard that past Dodgers players have witness them doing just that in the past.
Thoughts?

I know firsthand Dud players from past teams were on ALL sorts of gear.
I guess anything is possible.

I have never seen fans do this before. This is crazy. They could have seriously injured him.

I've hated the Dodgers my whole life. Accusing them of juicing just because they beat us and look like they're going to win the World Series is lame and makes Padres fans look bad.

Happy for Will. I'm surprised he choose the White Sox after reportedly turning down chances at other jobs last year. I guess you can't really be choosy with so few jobs available. That's a rough spot to take over though.

Always a lot of parts to negotiations. No idea if he turned down an actual offer and if he did what that offer entailed (plus his view of the organization / front office has to come in play).
Remember that last year he was coming off being a coach for the World Series winners … probably making his approach to choosing a bit more “selective” with a pretty secure role (and pay). Now a bit older and Texas looks to be tightening the belt … he may want to make his move before it is too late.
A managerial gig is hard to get (and hold) … maybe the CWS just put out a longer guarantee (or bigger money) and is giving him more say / control that other teams.
