It’s not officially Opening Day until Eric Hosmer grounds out to first

Quote from Jeremy Hill on April 1, 2023, 2:51 pmWhat a wild debut for Shintaro Fujinami. He started with 6 up 6 down with 4 strikeouts. He only got 1 of the next 9 batters out before being pulled and ended up getting charged with 8 earned runs.

Quote from WindsorUK on April 2, 2023, 11:00 amTrayce Thompson goes big fly not once, not twice, but THREE times!! Are you kidding me?
In 74 games last year with the Duds, he hits 13 HR's, after sucking for the Pad's and Tigers.
What the hell are they giving these guys to make them that much more productive? Is it the stadium? They have WAY too many reclamation project success stories.
Is there any organisation in MLB that can boast such prevelance of immense turnarounds?

Quote from fenn68 on April 2, 2023, 1:31 pmIn a flash back 50+ years ... the game yesterday between Cleveland and Seattle lasted only 2 hours and 4 minutes. (2 - 0 game).
I guess the pitch clock is working and is eliminating all the "dead time" that creeped into the game year after year.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on April 3, 2023, 9:15 amSome interesting numbers from Jeff Passan. Thru 4 games average game time is down 30 minutes, offensive numbers are up slightly, there have been way more stolen base attempts and runners have been much more successful compared to the same span last year.

Quote from MrPadre19 on April 3, 2023, 9:47 amTeams are going to lose a lot of concessions money.
I read somewhere that they may have to get creative.
Have something going on before the game and/or after to keep fans around longer to spend money on concessions.
Concerts....fireworks....meet and greets....or something.

I dont think 30 minutes will affect concessions that much.. But assume it does 30min = 17% less time.. add 17% increase in price to everything and that offsets and perhaps increases concession revenue ..
Also the faster pace should attract more fans to baseball and baseball parks so if attendance goes up just 5% across MLB that would be a Huge influx of new $$money..
Take a look at this Rockies series already the largest 4 game series in Petco Park history (+6000+) over prior record (2015 vs SF)
