I was watching the Mets- Dodgers game on ESPN like it was the 7th game of the World Series hoping the Duds would lose.

Which they did.

Just crazy how much I want them to lose…..

I always want the Duds to lose.

Closer Monkey:

Boston Red Sox – After the Red Sox took the lead in the top of the 10th, Matt Strahm tossed a perfect bottom half of the inning to earn his second save of the season. Jake Diekman had already pitched, issuing two walks and allowing a run in the fifth while the Sox were already trailing. Tanner Houck held the Angels scoreless in the eighth and the ninth to help send the game to extras.

Updated hierarchy: *Houck | Schreiber | Strahm.

Jack Suwinski hits HR number 7 for the Bucs.

That Frazier trade looking dumber by the day. What the hell was AJ thinking??????

ARLINGTON -- An immaculate inning -- when a pitcher strikes out the side on nine pitches -- is so rare that the Astros have more no-hitters than immaculate frames in the franchise's 60-year history.

And how rare is it for a team to throw two immaculate innings in the same game? So rare that it had never happened in any Major League game until Astros starter Luis Garcia (second inning) and reliever Phil Maton (seventh inning) each struck out the side on nine pitches in the Astros' 9-2 win over the Rangers.

And it was the same 3 guys!

How about Christian Bethancourt having decent success in Oakland at Catcher?

Hasn't been in the Big Leagues since 2017 and apparently survived the ill advised transition to the mound and is now playing decent ball at Catcher again.

Yeah that package should have netted us Reynolds... that would have been a great trade...Frazier was a terrible trade and morale killer to boot...

Nolan Arenado just made another error, this time in Boston, that was called a base hit.

Boegarts hits a ground ball to 3rd,Arenado backhands it (not a difficult play),and the ball pops out of his glove. He picks it up and fires it to 1b and it’s a 1/2 step late…..runner safe.

I’m thinking….well that helps Manny’s case for Gold Glove.

Check the box score……it’s a hit!

I Just Don’t Get It?

Suwinski is hitting .211 with a .273 OBP and striking out in almost a third of his ABs. Marcano looks like a utility guy at best. I had to look up the trade to remember who the third guy even was and he's in A+ ball with a 6+ ERA. Marcano was a decent prospect at the time and Suwinksi was having a breakout year in the minors, but that package wouldn't have come anywhere close to getting us Reynolds. I doubt we really end up missing any of them.

As for Frazier obviously it didn't work out as we would have liked. I don't have a problem with it though. Frazier was leading or among the leaders in hits and AVG at the time. I've also always suspected AJ thought he had a deal lined up to move Hosmer and got Frazier to move Crone to 1st. We also flipped Frazier for Kerr and Rosier who still have a chance to make it. It was a low cost gamble that didn't work out. Time will tell how it ultimately plays out, but I don't think we'll really end up regretting it much.

No problem with the Frazier trade AT THE TIME given the bench issues and concern about Tatis’ health / low Kim performance while still in playoff contention.

Frazier AT THE TIME was tearing it up … just did not deliver for SD. Always a risk that performance does not carry over from team to team after a trade … a reason to be cautious about overpaying for past performance.

Essentially the classic good decision bad outcome based on what was known at the time.
