That Frazier trade looking dumber by the day. What the hell was AJ thinking??????
Yeah that package should have netted us Reynolds... that would have been a great trade...Frazier was a terrible trade and morale killer to boot...
Suwinski is hitting .211 with a .273 OBP and striking out in almost a third of his ABs. Marcano looks like a utility guy at best. I had to look up the trade to remember who the third guy even was and he's in A+ ball with a 6+ ERA. Marcano was a decent prospect at the time and Suwinksi was having a breakout year in the minors, but that package wouldn't have come anywhere close to getting us Reynolds. I doubt we really end up missing any of them.
As for Frazier obviously it didn't work out as we would have liked. I don't have a problem with it though. Frazier was leading or among the leaders in hits and AVG at the time. I've also always suspected AJ thought he had a deal lined up to move Hosmer and got Frazier to move Crone to 1st. We also flipped Frazier for Kerr and Rosier who still have a chance to make it. It was a low cost gamble that didn't work out. Time will tell how it ultimately plays out, but I don't think we'll really end up regretting it much.

https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12950Smith was recalled by the Mets on Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Smith has hit a respectable .266/.347/.438 in 15 games since being demoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of May, though his return may be less about his own numbers and more about the fact that teams are limited to 13 pitchers for the rest of the season.

Astros are into the 7th.....with another no hitter against the Yankees!
This could be the greatest moment in baseball! The game just keeps giving, and giving, and giving....

Quote from MrPadre19 on June 27, 2022, 6:51 amGoldy's chance at the NL MVP sure got a boost with Mookie/Harper/Machado all out with injuries.
At this moment its basically him and Arenado...with Alonso and maybe Jazz trailing further back.
Also,Soto, with zero protection in that lineup is not doing much....yet sill getting his Walks.
Manny needs to get back and hit the ground running soon as he returns.
Not to mention we need the wins...Philly may be one we have to hold off for the Wildcard if we don't catch the Dodgers.

Yup I hated not splitting with them.. we lost season series so if we tie for final spot they go we dont.don't.. or if we are tied for one of the spots (wc) and play each other they get home field...
Braves + Padres
Brewers +Padres
Giants Padres leading
Mets Padres leading
Miami Padres leading
Phillies - Padres
St Louis Padres down 0-3
So good shape vs most but need to cheer for Cards to beat Brewers for Central division... and Braves/Mets to beat Phillies early and often... LAD and SF we can take care of business head to head
