Trade for Matt Olson and then sign him to an 8 year $168M contract extension. Great move ATL. I know Freeman was a fan favortie, but Olson is younger and better.

Just think, not only did the Braves replace Freeman with Olson….but they have also “added” Acuña and Ozuna since last year.

Basically.

I’m a big Braves fan since I’m in Georgia but I really like what the Marlins are doing (obviously more than Jeter did)  yet even as they improve the Braves and Mets are just becoming powerhouses.

Going to be interesting in that Division I believe.

AZ signs Zach Davies, one year for $4.5M, I hope Nick Martinez is better than Davies, because I have a sneaky feeling that this is a really good signing by the Dbacks.

Wow…..Dodgers trade AJ Pollack to the white Sox for Craig kimbrel….the NL West is going to be brutal this year

LAD could be better adding Kimbel ... they should have a good back end of the pen with him and Treinen ... but it did cost them a really good OF in Pollack. Likely puts Taylor in LF and lets Lux start at 2B ... has the potential to reduce their offense at the bottom 1/3rd of the line-up.

On the other hand, if you believe the latest rumors, signing Conforto for LF may be the offsetting move.

METS spent a ton to win in 2022 ... but everything does not go to plan even for them ... DeGrom to miss "significant time" do to an new injury. Best pitcher in the MLB out will cost them wins.

Might make ATL even more a favorite in the NL East ... and potentially improve the Padres odds securing a playoff slot and the NYM win total is decreased.

I think we'll probably see a Lux/Alberto platoon of sorts from the Dodgers. I'm a little surprised by the trade for them. Bellinger has continued to look bad this spring. The rest of their lineup is good enough to give him every opportunity to bounce back, but if I was a Dodger's fan I would have preferred to keep Pollock. Not much to fall back on if Bellinger doesn't get it figured out now. Their bullpen should be nasty though.

On the deGrom front I wonder if the Mets would be more open to moving McNeil for a starter now.

Scherzer isn’t 100% either… but should be fine.

Then again,at his age it won’t take much for him to miss starts as well.

As far as the Dodgers….I could see them now signing Conforto(why stop now?) or making another trade.

Then again, they have enough offense plus they have Pillar as a fall back if Lux/Rios don’t hit.

Personally I’m not a believer in Lux…..and not because he’s a Dodger.😉

Bellinger is an oddity….will he ever hit at a high level again?

Is his situation having any influence on Tatis and his decision to not have shoulder surgery?

Old friend alert:  Franchy Cordero tearing up spring training with the Red Sox, batting .500 with over a 1000 OPS.  Has had so many injuries in the past and still a lot of swing and miss, but talent was undeniable.  He and Franmil made quite a pair in the DSL many years ago - too bad neither of them could field very well!  Wish him well.

Is Franchy making the opening day roster?

He'd be fun to have back.
