Currently just 1/2 game behind Phi and 1 game behind Chi.
Phi has a tough last stretch also.
But I would prefer to stay in the 6 spot unless we can pass both.
Cubs finishing with Bos but it’s not looking like the Sox will have anything to play for by then…..so they may not be much help..

I know FTJ is our best player but Ty France is 100% the MVP of this team. Without his contribution, we're a sub .500 baseball team.
Taylor, Rengifo, and Harris also get special recognition for without their speed and positional flexability, again, this team was doomed.
Shout out to the scouts who saw something in these guys, and Preller and Stammen for putting them in positions to succeed.
And now, finally!, with Bogaerts and Cronenworth contributing, this is looking like a really solid baseball team.
If King, Pivetta, and Buehler stay the course, this could get interesting.

I think that France is one of the best first basemen the Padres have had in a long time. Probably since Adrian Gonzalez.
