Maybe that's me being too simplistic and trying to find a work around? That is assuming Rengifo and Pads WANT to be together AFTER the new labour agreement is in place?

The bonus in all this is that it allows us to put both Fermin and Capusano in the same lineup👍🏽

No, Rengifo (all players) who have achieved Union status retain Union status even if not on a 40 man roster ... and therefore are also subject to the rules of a lockout as I understand it.

Side: that will make the upper minors (AAA) strange if it starts during the lockout ... most seem to have some ML service time so maybe the have to try to build a team of AAA/AA types until the lockout is over?

I had a feeling news like this was coming. He would have pitched yesterday if he had been on schedule. When that didn't happen I thought something might be up. When he didn't pitch today either I was pretty much certain.
