Aug. 12: RHP Yu Darvish working out while on restricted list
The Padres are giving Darvish all the time he needs to deal with a personal family matter while he's away from the team and on the restricted list. Profar hit “again” on the right ankle/foot area.
Maybe he needs to stick to hitting right handed for a couple weeks to let that right leg heal?
What’s that….6 times in the last 2 weeks or so?

I see that the Giants have been using J Hicks as a reliever, Are they done with the SP experiment? Or he reached his innings limit? Any idea?

It looks like he had 5 pretty rough outings in a row before the switch. Maybe he just hit a bit of a wall.

Not that this has anything to do with anything but....
I was digging around the Web to get any info on Darvish and a possible return. He's been throwing and appears healthy so fingers crossed.
But the interesting thing to me was that Yu is only half Japanese! His father is Iranian. Interesting because it's never mentioned anywhere( unless I totally missed it)
And.....his wife is a world champion wrestler( and a beautiful one at that!)
Again, nothing to do with anything just cool facts about our star pitcher who I HOPE returns in time to get us a ring.

Odd news ...
The Toronto Blue Jays selected former San Diego Padres right-hander Tommy Nance to take the place of left-hander Génesis Cabrera who was placed on the paternity list on Thursday.
Nance had been with the Padres on a minor league deal but the Jays acquired him for cash on Wednesday, per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.

Currently, lot of depth on RP staff at the EP level. Frequent flyer miles ready to be earned on the EP - SD shuttle. Good thing to have to rest some arms down the stretch or if there is any blow-up in efficiency.

Dodgers and Mets lost, Braves down, so, even though there is no game, it's a good day for us, somehow they have to take care of those Rockies though 🤞

The Dog-ers, Phils, Brew Crew, Snakes & Pads are all within 2 games of the best record in of the NL with only 40 games remaining. This may go down as one of the best pennant races in recent memory. Let's go Padres!
