6’8” / 240 with a mid-90s FB and apparently a nasty curve … still needs a 3rd pitch to develop.

Padres took him at #52 (MLB had him ranked at #57). Mayfield taken at #25 was ranked by MLB at #30. So, Preller was pretty much in sync with the rankings … no “surprise” pull forward of lower ranked prospects. Maybe that is a factor of having a “lower” pool of money allocated making playing the over / under slot signing game more difficult.

Top 100). The top 2 HS picks do not seem like over slot signings.

Never know the signing game but either very late today or a couple in the first couple of rounds tomorrow trying to sign one or the other.
