Lots of good information on the new broadcast options here. It looks like most cable options will still be available.

Our record in Challenges is as bad as our Avg with RISP.

2 for 11

27 games in June.

IMO we need to go 16-11 at minimum for my confidence level to not drop even more than it has these first two months.

Get back to .500 is all I ask.

So it looks like the Padres may be on channel 4 starting today…your view San Diego

YVSD 4 besides streaming on mlb

i guess I’ll find out today but will keep the radio handy

For those of us out of market nothing changes...so we have that going for us,which is nice.

For SPECTRUM users it looks like it will be on an previously unused channel ... 305 ... being called MLB6 I think ... no other programming on that channel except the game.

No idea if have to have a certain package level to get that channel but guessing if you were getting Bally on 322 you will get 305 included without extra cost (for now).

Alfaro has opted out of his MiL contract with BOS. There are two players missing from last seasons NLCS team, Alfaro and Profar. Maybe they were more important to the team than just their numbers? I see no reason; especially with the performance of the current catching options on the Padres, that SD doesnt grab Alfaro.

Option Nola to AAA, and recall Sullivan for the LHH C bat. Alfaro and Sullivan spilt 90% games at C based on batting match ups, move Sanchez to DH (his catching last night was rough) to see if he still has a bat, and move Cruz to the coaching staff.

I would make it simple and add Alfaro and DFA Cruz (and keep him as a bench coach if he wants) … let Alfaro / Sanchez DH RH and Carpenter DH LH … when not DH Alfaro / Sanchez catch (except Nola for now remains as Darvish’s catcher).

Basically Darvish is such a pitcher of routine … and apparently is in sync with Nola and wants him … so a switch of catchers may hurt Darvish (at least in a transition period).

As for Sullivan proved to be not much of a ML hitter so don’t see any major advantage of him being a LHH over Sanchez or Alfaro.

From afar hard to tell but Alfaro, Profar, and especially Stammen seemed important to the club’s spirit / teamwork last year … not suggesting the replacements (or others) are disruptive but it take a certain natural personality to be a positive influence and that is something that can’t be artificially pushed.

I guess a wrinkle in the immediate roster moves will be the return of Machado tomorrow. Been assuming Dixon gets optioned (RHH for RHH) but could we see the Machado return bump Cruz … Dixon can play 1B/OF and has been doing marginally better than Cruz. Could Sanchez at DH today be a clue?

Given players with annoying injures (and eventually need for field rest) … the DH role would be a nice landing spot and Dixon / Azocar / Carpenter (L) / Odor (L)  can cover the INF/OF vacancies.

Does not eliminate the Alfaro idea (bumps Dixon) … if Alfaro is not getting a better deal elsewhere.

Cruz has a "hammy issue" BoMel said after the game.. so my guess is Cruz to the IL.. if Manny is activated.. Sanchez DH today and had a Monster day.. Dixon was terrific too with 2 hits a SF and 2 RBIs
