That is what I have been led to believe ... just hard to wrap my head around that his ability to call game / handle the pitching staff be that detrimental to their ERA.

We need the Pitchers to have control and call their own games I guess.

Rumor there was a debate as to whether to option Nola or Sullivan within the Padres.
Just my guess ... Darvish and Musgrove wanted to keep Nola ... probably for the working relationship in calling a game. Not as though Sullivan is doing that much offensively v LHP or RHP.
Sanchez is starting today (batting 7th) and one thought is that Nola can do more for getting Sanchez ready to handle the staff than Sullivan could (or maybe any of the coaches).

People talk like Sullivan is Adley Rutschman or something. He was hitting .170 with a .482 OPS and 13-1 K to BB ratio. Nola by all accounts puts in a ton of work to game plan for every opponent and pitchers love throwing to him. He does the things that don't show up in the box score to have them at their best. I'm really not trying to defend him because he's been awful offensively, but so has Sullivan. If neither guy is giving you any offense you keep the guy that does the most for your pitchers.

Just saw that Diamond Sports Group missed another payment. Apparently MLB will be taking over production of Padres broadcasts starting with tomorrow's game.

I saw that … where will the games be broadcast … MLB.TV?
Don’t know who is under contract with whom … so maybe some question on the broadcast team both on and off air?

From what I've seen reported MLB is going to provide free streams through the weekend, some cable deals have been secured and they are working on additional streaming options. It also sounds like there won't be anymore local blackouts. From a fan perspective this could end up being a good thing.

Knew it was coming…if it means that the only way to see a game on TV is some monthly payment package I will just listen on the radio
edit; Now that it was announced that today would be the last game by Bally Sports…all of a sudden the TV broadcast went off the air due to “Technical Difficulties “
They didn’t even have enough money to pay for 9 innings…lol…glad I had the radio on 😃⚾️😃
