It seems Brett Sullivan has a locker at Petco today.

Good morning. Catcher Brett Sullivan is here and has a locker in the Padres clubhouse. No roster move but appears as though the Padres plan to call him up.

Prior to today’s game, the #Padres optioned RHP Domingo Tapia and OF Brandon Dixon to Triple-A El Paso and recalled C Brett Sullivan and RHP Reiss Knehr from El Paso.

Does this mean Tapia and Dixon have options?.. if not I am surprised a bit by Tapia..since even with his wildness >Crismatt who serves up BP 90% of the time he pitches so far in 2023

Apparently Campusano has a jammed thumb (not as of now an IL issue) and Nola is catching today. Sullivan on the 40 man so a logical move and optioning Dixon was the result of 8K in 10 AB.

Knehr does absolutely nothing for me.
He’s a 7th starter at best….which does us nothing.
If he’s in the BP,which it seems he is,he and Crismatt together spell trouble for any close game.

Agree that not seeing much in Knehr now. Looks like a bullpen option over Tapia. Tapia pitched the last two days and his control has faltered (always been his problem) but with an option still can be recalled if needed.
Don't know how rested Knehr is but that may be a factor.
Knehr seems to be always somewhere on the Padres' top prospect lists ... must be "stuff" over results ... but he too has his control issues. Maybe just filler until Musgrove returns next week (as would have been Tapia).

Khner stuff + has really moved upwards according to Enos.. and he has the look of a solid BP arm now.. Dont think he got called up to start...
