That's a jump from last season for Grish (but he beat these projs. in 20'-21') and right on pace for Kim based on last season.

 

.250/.335/.395 from Nola (his 162 game career avg) would be fine.

The big four will be getting all the focus even before they knock out the opponent’s better SP … they will eat up pitches (tiring the SP early) and will get on base forcing  worn down SP to face the rest with men on base … result better pitches for the rest to hit. Then the SP is out and lesser RP come in for the entire line-up feast upon. That will happen often enough to really boost everyone’s stats.

Actually if a player is not hitting better in this line-up … a real concern.

This I just read.. not sure we need him and would like at least Honeywell/Groome and Weathers to get some opportunity and tested over the season be it from 1 or 2 spots of the 13.. up and down/IL stints (Honeywell).. These 3 could be HUGE come 2024 if we can find out what they can become in 2023.. and all 3 have at least looked real good in ST

This was basically a blogger making a random trade prediction.  I take very little notice of things like that.  It’s like one of us saying “this is who I think the Padres should trade for”.  Now if a respected writer had said, there is a rumor the Padres were pursuing this guy, I would pay more attention.  Personally though, not interested in trading more prospects at this time.

I saw him pitch when I was out there.

Seems legit...A lot of swing and miss.But has been giving up some long balls.

16 K's to only 2 BB's but 3 HR's in 11 innings.

Don't know if it's just a location issue?

I think a year from now he may be a legit #3-#4 SP...if not even better

He signed a minor league deal so we can just stash him in AA this year right?

I saw him on tv.. he pitched 2 scoreless and struggled a bit his 3rd inning.. but I think it was his 2nd start.Then listen to another one of his game and same thing very good for 2.1 innings and then struggles so maybe just needs to build up stam... or maybe a 1 or 2 inning long guy for 2023.. and then an expanded role in 24, if he stays healthy..

Also someone on Twitter broke down his last start where he threw 67 pitches amd had like 17 swing and misses which they mentioned was pretty elite

Needs to go through waivers (out of options and on 40..with a split deal milb/mlb).. so maybe on the 26 to open season a few outings and if he thrives keep it going if he struggles a bit there is always the hang nail ILstint

No he signed a ML deal (he is on the 40 man without options) and some vague companion MiL deal … guessing that IF he cleared waivers that just puts a deal in place so he cannot explore FA. He will not clear waivers.

The couple of times I saw him on TV he looked ML quality. Had the swing and miss stuff along with control … he was not trying to nibble the corners. HR given up in the desert early in ST can be taken with a grain of salt as both command and stuff round into shape.

I saw enough … given the other options / injuries … to keep him on the 26 man to start the season and get a better look in real games. Hard to bypass his upside (if healthy) since we was a MLB top 20 prospect coming up through the minors.
