Not going to sign any of the remaining SP to a 3 year deal (would not even do that with Eovaldi) … they are not that good. Worry about 2024 next winter. Put the money into extending Darvish and Snell then do what they are doing this year … scramble for a mid to low rotation arm … probably similar to this year’s crop that we don’t love.

No bargains in 2023 … old buddy Adam Frazier who was poor in SD and poor last year in SEA just signed a one year deal with BALT for … $8MM. Amazing for a 2B who has not hit since he left PITT.

Right, if Frazier is getting $8M, then Henry's boy Drury will get what $15M. Its a good year to be a free agent baseball player!!

To be honest, I'd be happy if we re-sign Profar and Myers.
Cover any number of defensive positions, hit either side of the plate, and they're both already good members of the clubhouse.

Just read where ATL does not envision trading D'Arnaud, they like his leadership. Of course, they could be blowing smoke like they did before trading for Murphy.
Let's pivot, and focus back on MIN.
SD gets Arraez, Gray, and Kepler. MIN gets Kim, Campusano, Crismatt, Snelling, and Zavala.

Jeff Sanders is reporting the Padres are in agreement with 16 year old Venezuelan catcher Salas for …. $5.6MM signing bonus. (Signing will be in Jan).
That is some good coin for a 16 year old in Venezuela.

In the same vein of go for it all, how about this trade.
SD gets Kirk. TOR gets Merrill and Lesko. Remember Kirk is from TJ and controllable for 4 more years.

He is not ordinary 16 yr old..been playing in Florida for a while now in leagues with A+/AA guys already.. good chance he debuts in LE ..is how advanced he is as a C and he us a switch hitter who has been hamering 97+ Pro FB already has an oppo field approach on high velo.. super prospect.. He will be #1 or #2 right from the get go..
