Concur.  Brewer staff gave us a lot of trouble in the past, especially Woodruff and Burnes.  Preller has a lot of history with Milwaukee so maybe a deal can be struck if we don't have to give up Merrill, Lesko, Zavala or Lizarraga.  Minors are so thin that I still prefer signing Senga as our #4 if we can do that.

Woodruff and Burnes would require these guys..maybe not Merrll but maybe yes as teams will be calling early and often both of these SP are > any FA out there when u bring $$ into play..ie Burnes at $11mil > Degroom at $40+mil..so their cost is high

I'd be happy with Eric Lauer for that 5th/6th role at his arb $5mil figure.. for lesser specs.. also like Tellez as a Need add if we miss on Abreu..or even if we get Abreu..nice lefty DH/1B option..

Ideal situation + Senga + Tellez.. and + Abreu

Low prospect capital loss and key/need adds ..although I prefer a bit more position flexibility at 1B/DH..

My concern about any add who is a pure DH/1B is rooted in the lack of a quality bench to fill during a 162 game season. Preference is the adds having at least some ability to cover a field position (max 1 1B/DH).

I like Abreu but probably too costly for his incremental value while that money could go for pitching or a more versatile bat (eg Benintendi). Side note: true to form as soon as the Padres were linked to Abreu as a top priority ... the LAD leaked they were interested. Doing the same thing to SF on Judge. Did the same game in past years just trying to get SD/SF to overpay and reduce the money for other adds?

As for Tellez (about $5.3MM) not sure MILW would have him high on their list to move if money is the issue. On the flip side, his numbers AWAY from Miller Park are not that impressive vs his power at Miller Park. Pass.

My thoughts on Tellez, he is a product of the hitters park in MIL. Pass,

I would guess that these are the combo of guys that would need to be included in a deal to get Woodruff or Burnes. They are both very good to dominant pitchers on very inexpensive contracts.

A bidding war would ensue should MIL think about trading these guys.

If a hitter I still think Wong as a 2-3 WAR player, LHH, plus defense at 2B could be had "reasonably" since only 1 year but at a pricy $10MM (although that is fair value). Wong to 2B - Cronenworth to 1B might become a better alternative than most FA in that price point.

Since Wong is only controllable for the 2023 season, what do we think it would take to get him? Rosario for Wong straight up?

I probably like Rosario> Wong.. not sure why but I see Rosario as a 15+ HR 20+ Doubles 20+ SB guy somewhere in the .250/.345/.420.. range.. or slightly better than $10mil Wong for around $9.5 mil less..

Not as high on Rosario (yet) ... and the need is for production in 2023. Rosario's production last season AWAY form El Paso was frankly bad. So IF he develops into a ML starter (long shot in my mind) it will a year or more.

However if one year of Renfroe at $11MM gets them only three mediocre RP from the Angels ... not sure one year of Wong at $10MM will cost that much in prospects ... looking more at bottom (or out of ) Top 30.

What for Lauer? Could Wethers for Lauer be a thing?

I want that LAD killer on my team

7 -1   2.37 over 64.2 IP for his career vs LAD
