2022 MLB Draft

PreviousPage 8 of 20Next

Slot value at #15 is $4.082MM and if all three high ceiling injured pitchers are there … all have to worry about sliding down in much lower slot values. Likely the teams following the Padres are all not in on those players.

If the Padres are somewhat neutral on the upside differences … the one that is willing to go under slot may be the selection.

From the players view (probably not being able to argue over slot later in the first round) there may be a deal to be had where they sign at #15 under and still get more than if they landed later.

The difference if #20 is $685,000 … #25 $1,203,000 … #30 $1,599,000. Split the difference and both the player and the Padres are better off.

Now that is a shock ... Rocker #3 to Texas!

Now worst case for Padres is 14th best player 🙂

Wow!

Rangers don’t have many picks and need pitching soon….only thing that makes sense is they expect this guy to pitch in Tx this year or next at the latest.

Must be fine with the medicals ... and/or worth the gamble. Spent big money last winter on hitters ... need pitching ASAP and he may be the pitcher (SP) soonest to the ML.

Jacob Berry to Marlins at #6 ...

Well I am all kinds of shocked now..
