Hmmmmm .... Diaz will start tomorrow’s game and Darvish will go on Wednesday.
Tuesday is “open” ... I guess they are not comfortable with Lamet and Weathers yet.
Northcraft threw a lot (and not well) today ... would not be surprised to see him optioned considering likely a heavy pen load coming on Monday and Tuesday.
Is Crismatt eligible to return tomorrow? That delays the move with Lamet until? If Weathers goes Tuesday, Lamet may be held out another week given the coming off day.

I thought they might do this. Crismatt can & will return for Northcraft. Logically, that sets up Lamet to come up Tuesday for Diaz, who won't be able to pitch again for 3-4 days. If they decide Weathers isn't ready yet for Tues, they could retroactively IL him instead. If either Lamet or Weathers re-lapsed an arm issue after Tuesday's (piggyback?) start, they could bring Diaz back up if needed for 1 more spot start before Paddack returns.
Man if we can just navigate this little tightrope of SP here...

Tommy Pham is hitting .205. Victor Caratini is hitting .215. Ha-Seong Kim is hitting .216. The Padres entered play Sunday with a .579 OPS in the 7-8-9 spots, not including pitchers, which ranks 14th out of 15 teams in the National League.

So Diaz was stretched out but 50 pitches is all they’d give him?
He was dealing plus we don’t want to use the Peb up tonight and again tomorrow?
We already lead the majors in innings by relievers.
I don’t think I agree with Tingler handling of the Pen this year.
Keep in mind he had the DH at his disposal last year(his first) so this is his first season having to manage like a true NL manager.

Frustrating game to this point.
Why do pitchers like this give us fits?
Zero hits through 4 innings......and Tatis is bunting?
Musgrove pinch hitting?
