Wonder what the line is going to be like at Caffe Adesso tomorrow.

Where’s Fenn?

I sure hope he saw it!

Saw it from start to finish ... and I am exhausted.

Great storyline for the first Padre no-hitter coming for a SD kid and from all accounts a great guy and great family.

Musgrove really had it today ... and a lot of profs for Caratini who called / handled a great game behind the plate.

Musgrove’s last four starts:

Apr 9 v Tex .... 9 innings ... 0 hits .... 0 runs

Apr 3 v AZ ..... 6 innings ... 3 hits .... 0 runs

Sep 26 v Clev .. 7 innings ... 3 hits ... 0 runs

Sep 20 v STL ... 6 innings .. 3 hits ... 0 runs

So, 4 starts ... 28 innngs ... 9 hits ... 0 runs ... impressive.

======

Also, note that the last ML no hitter had Caratini as the catcher.

Not to get carried away with the euphoria of today BUT if Musgrove continues his elite level of performance stemming back to the end of last season with PITT ... he will have to be in the discussion for an extension (only controlled through next season).

Also, Caratini is controlled through 2023 but has looked more the part of a #1 catcher than #2 (both offensively and defensively). With Campusano coming up the system and Nola under control for more years (although older) may make for an interesting catching debate in 2022-23. The DH may help alleviate some of that debate.

Future seems bright but for now ... need to focus on the World Series in 2021.

Fandamntastic......Congrats to Joe Musgrove....this is so cool because I truly thought this might be the year for a no no....makes AJ Preller look like a genius....again 🙂

So Stoked

JUST SAW THE NEWS!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!

Brought tears to my eyes.

Welcome home Joe Musgrove....you GOD amongst men!!!!

HELL YEAH!!!!

What I love most about this first No Hitter, besides the obvious,is that it's as deserved as one can be.

This wasn't an Alec Mills or a Chris Heston No Hitter....this was a Justin Verlander No Hitter!

Obviously any No Hitter is an amazing feat....but some very average pitchers have fallen in to one.

This, our first, was a dominant pitcher in his prime "earning" the Padres first ever.

So happy right now!

A couple more thoughts.

I have a feeling the Texas Rangers are not happy the Padres are back in town!

I'm sure they're ready for us to leave and when was the last time you felt that way and it was true?

Also, take how you felt after that last ground out and multiply it by TEN!

THAT is how you will feel after the last out of a winning World Series!

What I thought was nice, was the TEX crowd. If you listen to the twitter video from the Athletic, on the final ground out, the almost capacity TEX crowd can really be heard cheering for the history of the moment. So glad it wasnt last season where all you would have heard is crickets or speakers blasting recorded crowd noise.

Well played TEX, well played.

And now we go from the mountaintop experience of Mount Musgrove, to the valley of Paddock.
