Great storyline for the first Padre no-hitter coming for a SD kid and from all accounts a great guy and great family.

Not to get carried away with the euphoria of today BUT if Musgrove continues his elite level of performance stemming back to the end of last season with PITT ... he will have to be in the discussion for an extension (only controlled through next season).

Also, Caratini is controlled through 2023 but has looked more the part of a #1 catcher than #2 (both offensively and defensively). With Campusano coming up the system and Nola under control for more years (although older) may make for an interesting catching debate in 2022-23. The DH may help alleviate some of that debate.

Future seems bright but for now ... need to focus on the World Series in 2021.

Obviously any No Hitter is an amazing feat....but some very average pitchers have fallen in to one.

If you listen to the twitter video from the Athletic, on the final ground out, the almost capacity TEX crowd can really be heard cheering for the history of the moment. So glad it wasnt last season where all you would have heard is crickets or speakers blasting recorded crowd noise.
