3rd round (#99) Padres pick a RHRP out of college ... Kevin Kopps. He is a 6 year senior, age 24 ... maybe a 90MPH FB with complimentary stuff ... sounds like limited potential BUT he is the likely Silver Spikes winner in college by have a minuscule ERA for the year. Stuff played in College ... as a pro?
Either way being 24 and a senior ... expect an under slot signing (slot at $587K) ... not sure who that would be aimed at since Merrill at #1 is unlikely to command an over slot nor is Gasser at #2B ... maybe Woods at #2? or maybe the #4 pick?

I guess Chandler was in Clemson's football camp already but the school year has not started and still could be drafted.

Yeah he may be a tough sign which is why he fell.
But that happens all the time and $$ changes everything.
Plus I don't think he will be starting at QB for Clemson anytime soon.
Just depends on which sport he wants to play and does he want the $$ over the College experience?

Kopps was NOT ranked in the Top 250 ... most seem to think it is his age (24) with a 90MPH FB BUT he has a major quality slider.
He could be a Padre contributor quickly.

My way too early prognostication is that the Tigers are going to greatly regret passing on Marcelo Mayer at #3.

#4 is also interesting ... Jackson Wolf ... a graduated college senior (so should be near minimum) ... 6'7" but not a hard thrower as a LHP with an odd delivery. I guess another RP option.
Maybe just me but they keep drafting players I see as under slot ... not seeing the pick that will command all this extra slot money.
