Facts, we wouldnt need to scramble for upgrades if our guys lived up their their standards. Looking at you Snell.
Snell, Paddack, Hosmer, and to a certain degree Profar, Myers and Nola (more staying healthy).

I guess he has an ERA of 0.00, pretty good pitcher!! Not many innings this season though.

I gotta hand it to AJ Preller.....he has built a good team and IF these guys could get consistent then the Padres will be just fine in my opinion and for AJ NOT to overpay for some of these guys is a good move on his part as we will see how many of these guys that have cost other teams top prospects are really just going to be 2 month rentals....I have never been a fan of the 2 month rental idea when it turns out to be top prospects in the crazy stupid 3,4 or 5 players for 1 or 2 rentals. Play the hand you have and if there is a FA for next year then make your move then without completly gutting your farm system.
Bryant to the Giants and Scherzer and Turner to the Dodgers makes this a steeper hill to climb for sure

Agree wholeheartedly with those highlighting the fact that certain players are underperforming. Just about all of them were trades or recent signings from Preller. Maybe it is a good thing we didn’t trade for anyone cause they probably would have not lived up to expectations or gotten injured.
Outside of Tatis and Cronenworth, can someone name a player with Preller’s fingerprints who has lived up to expectations or even in the neighborhood of expectations?
Unless things change and we can win the division, we are looking at one playoff game on the road against the Dodgers. That is what $200 million is worth?
This team needs to get better and healthy like yesterday. Rant over......Let’s go Pads!!

Marisnick ... low cost in 2021 / mutual option (at $4MM) next season (although mutual options are almost never exercise). Not sure why ... plus defensive CF but no offense (RHH) ... no minor league options.
Probably means the end of Mateo ... but not much an upgrade.
For that deal Espinosa who still had upside and a minor league option in 2022.
I am confused ... on the other hand with adding FA to be and dealing 40 man roster types and with some near term DFA ... winter will have a lot of roster room for folks coming off 60 day IL (or FA signings).

Really? He is 1st among NL 3B for RBIs and stolen bases, 2nd for doubles and slugging percentage, and 4th for BA, OBP, and OPS, and 5th in HRs. While playing better defense than all the others, except for Arenando. And historically, 3B have been paid to drive in runs, and in all the NL, he is #2 in RBIs.
I will take that from a $30M a year player any day.

I hear you.....but for $30 million? In relation to the output we get from Myers and Hosmer it’s a steal. But across MLB not so sure.
