This morning, for all users, notes from big league camp:

Quote from sportwarrior on February 26, 2020, 12:15 pmPaddack strikes out the first two hitters he faces this spring. Franmil due to hit 4th.
I'm still upset we traded him. He's going to be an absolute beast at the plate moving forward. Trammel is going to have to be pretty damn good in order for us to not look like fools for making that deal. Ugh.

Quote from onlypads on February 26, 2020, 2:17 pmOlivares and Arias appear to be on a mission. Olivares just hit a bomb. Both have shown out on offense and defense IMO. Still early, but could they play themselves on to the roster.
Myers homered too.
Would it be crazy to put Olivares in CF (thinking of Pham in LF and Myers in RF) and Arias at 2B? Early obviously, but makes you wonder.
Probably pretty early on Arias but if he plays better defense than anybody else and is hitting why not? Plus he has power potential (keep hearing he is really strong) and a cannon.

LOL! Only, you win the "first to put guys on 26-man based on early ST results award"! No shame!
Seriously, I do really believe that the presence of Olivares was part of the reason Pads were comfortable trading Margot... he's definitely in position to be at least 4th OF, possibly platoon CF in MLB no later than next year, which looks like the role more $$ Margot would have had.... No one is mentioning him, but he is on the roster already.

Quote from Brian Connelly on February 26, 2020, 3:55 pmLOVE IT! Paddack cruises (except a 2B to Franmil), as does every other Pads P including "who?" guys, young guys getting hits left & right, and Pads roll 8-0 over Indians.
Early, meaningless, but still way better to be the "8" than the "0". This should be the most competitive camp in 5? more? years...

I think you have to be excited for the "Young" Padres....I know I am.
I like Olivaras, Tramell, Croenworth and Arais...will they make the 26.....maybe one or two but probably one and when the injury bug hits like it always does then having these guys get a taste of the big league camp can only help when they get the "Call"
Love the uniforms and this just has the feeling of a group that wants to show who they are......I still am hoping for a winning season....82-83 wins but with a little luck........90 wins ?
How cool would that be at Petco all year
