Quote from dvmin98 on June 6, 2018, 11:21 amWas looking at some video of Reiss Knehr from Fordham, our 20th round pick. He's got some nice movement on his fastball.

Unless the Gun is off on the video I linked or maybe that was an older video?
Big difference between 86-87 and 92+.
Guess we'll have to see for ourselves later this summer or next year.

Quote from David Jay on June 7, 2018, 11:51 amAny velocity reading for any high school pitcher taken from anything other than one of the high-profile scouting showcases should generally be considered something in between "pretty unreliable" to "not worth paying attention to."
That's not only because a lot of the information that's put out is just flat wrong, but because growth, mechanical changes, new coaching, and even just fluke hot days can cause pretty wildly varying velocity for an 18-year-old just coming into his own. (Which also applies to the data from the showcases, but at least a lot of those kids are more developed...)
In case you didn't see it on the front page, here's Travis's great summary of Day 3 strategy.

16th-rder Michael Curry signs w/@Padres for $125k. Georgia OF, hit .322/.395/.532 with 13 homers, power is best tool, makes consistent hard contact. @MLBDraft
