Trevor Bauer

PreviousPage 3 of 4Next

Trevor Bauer was an asshole long before the allegations dropped that got him axed from the league. He may be cleared of that stuff, but I still have no desire whatsoever to see this trashbag on our team. He's long been toxic in the social media space, and I highly doubt that's ever going to stop.

Simply put, I don't want to win if we need to use guys like him to do it.

The proof it was fake was in the video, the meta data showing her leaving him in bed the night she claimed it happened with a smile and zero damage to her face.

There are also reportedly texts and pictures she sent to a cousin shortly after that video was taken showing the injuries. The examining nurse also reportedly testified on her behalf.

The girl seems like an absolute disaster. I have my doubts about a lot of what she has claimed happened. I saw that she did an interview after Bauer put out his video and it was a shit show. She said she took the video about 4 hours after the encounter to send to someone who knew she was with Bauer and checked in on her. She said she was embarrassed and wanted to make it look like everything was good in the moment. She also said the bruises hadn't shown up yet and suggested that poor lighting and the fact that she used Snapchat to take the video hid some of the damage. I don't really buy it and she doesn't come across as someone who was a victim of something as horrific as she claimed. I also feel like what we expect and what we get from the alleged victim are often very different in these types of cases. Their behavior and explanations don't always make rational sense from the outside looking in.

The one big hangup I have with this is the recorded phone call with Bauer. He admits to hitting her which lends some credibility to her story. The question for me then becomes if not Bauer where did her injuries come from? Why would she take that video if she was planning an elaborate sexual assault based extortion scheme? I don't think Bauer is the monster she made him out to be. I'm not convinced he's fully innocent either.

The other problem I have is with the people saying he got railroaded by the league. There was a 9 month investigation involving 20+ witnesses including other alleged victims. The suspension was reduced, but upheld by the independent arbitrator. He still has an active lawsuit and countersuit with one of the other alleged victims. It wasn't just this girl's story the league was investigating, but a lot of people seem to be looking to fully exonerate him based on her story looking unreliable. I think it's fair to say we should try to stop making snap judgements in these cases and let the process play out. I also think a lot of people have now made a snap decision to exonerate him while the process is still playing out.

I absolutely believe he was railroaded by the league.  He was guilty in the court of public opinion so they punished him.  Honestly, a huge take away for rich men should be stop sleeping with random women.

Clevinger was guilty in the court of public opinion too. The league investigated and opted not to suspend him. Bauer got the longest suspension the league has given out under the policy. Why the difference? You think Manfred and the league really hate him that much?

We all know that mlb has always been a zero tolerance league and that goes back to Kennesaw Mountain Landis and the black sox scandal in 1919. When PED was a problem they dropped the hammer on players…some players will never get into the HOF and gambling is death…DV, sexual assault etc

the nfl and nba should take a lesson from mlb

You actually believe Clevinger was as known to the public as Bauer?

False.  People should not lose their living over fake allegations

Last I heard he was making a living in Japan so your premise is false

teams are very aware of the fan base and they made their decisions accordingly and besides…how many of the players wifes would be okay with that…players have a hard enough time playing the game without bringing wife attitude into the equation

You actually believe the difference in profile is the difference between 0 games and 324?

Based on the evidence that has come out, I don’t see how it could be anything but.  I am not even saying he’s a decent guy, I am saying it is now known a woman pre planned these accusations and staged the injuries and somehow he loses his career.  That’s not right.

I am no Trevor Bauer fan, but if it was all false allegations and premeditated then the players and their wives should side with their teammate.

Of course no one had all the details until recently...so the dodger Org had to take the safe route and believe the "victim".

But IMO they should come out with a statement now in support of the guy who they unceremoniously dumped and did not believe when I'm sure he told them he did not do what he was accused of.
