That is good for the Padres … really OK with Abrams, Hassell, Wood, Susana for Bell and Soto.
The deal may not have all the parts reported (Gore may still be in the deal) … but Preller was apparently working on other deals to move Homser or Myers or Voit … and that may take some of the other prospects.

The package going back to Washington for Juan Soto and Josh Bell, sources tell ESPN:

- OF Robert Hassell III
- SS C.J. Abrams
- OF James Wood
- RHP Jarlin Susana

Sherman is reporting that it is in fact Hosmer going to WAS for money reasons.
Bell and Soto for Abrams, Gore, Hassell, Wood, Susana, and Hosmer. I say this good for SD.

So Soto in … Bell in …….. Hosmer out … Abrams out from a 26 man active perspective.
Might improve the offense … Mazara to the bench / DH.
Sort of lock Batten as the reserve INF and increase Rosario’s value to the Padres as the only real INF back-up or replacement if an injury to a starter.

I have to believe this has been dealt with BUT Hosmer has a no trade clause to 10 teams … and you guessed it WASH is one.
Maybe that was the delay in reporting the add of Homser to the deal … maybe not. Note Hosmer and Soto are both Boras clients … no idea how that plays.

MLBTR is reporting the only hold up is that Hosmer's NTC lists WAS as one of his teams he can say no to, but the belief is that something will get done for Hosmer to OK the trade.

Would not put it past AJP to add Sean Murphy OR Contreras
