Taylor Trammell

Starting CF in 2021.

Not if CJ Abrams has anything to say about it.ūüėÉ

Trammell will get to the big leagues first. CJ will have to take the position from him.

An email I got from Baseball America had this Subject and content ...

Taylor Trammell is CLUTCH

Taylor Trammell, OF, Padres. Trammell only managed one hit in five at-bats but it was critical for Double-A Amarillo in their comeback victory over Double-A Tulsa to win the Texas League finals. Down 3-1 in the ninth inning, Trammell cracked a grand slam to right field to put Amarillo on top 5-1. Teammate Hudson Potts added a three-run shot to strengthen the lead and Amarillo never looked back. Over his last 10 games, Trammell has hit .310 (13-for-42) with three homers and 11 RBIs.

Taylor Trammell (Rollercoaster 2019):

What happened to me in 2019? I started off scorching hot only to slump badly over the next 3 months. I started to heat back up as the season wound down and has been on a tear during the TL playoffs. What are scouts thoughts on me now?

Kyle Glaser: Evaluators still are high on Trammell. They saw a lot of things in his stance and setup that needed to be tweaked, and the Padres identified that and started that process and we saw some of the results follow at the end of the year. As long as those offensive improvements hold, there's still a sense he can be an above-average everyday outfielder in the majors, if not more.

We are really depending on this guy to come through. With him having a bad year this year I think that the end of next year when rosters expand is the earliest we can expect to see him.

Rosters dont expand anymore... They go from 26 to 28 in Sept.. Only 2 players max per team

Oh and Trammell couldnt possibly had had a better season.. He got a ring ..was the post season MVP for Amarillo.. And made all the necessary adjustments to take the next step foward.. I think Trammell could have a Tatis Jr type ST and be in CF to start 2020 (at least in a platoon with Margot..)and at worst be ready by june or July

He has made the adjustments and gotten great results yes. He has to make them stick. They have to become second nature to him so he does it without thinking about it. I doubt we want him to have to be learning or adjusting at the major league level. That's just my opinion. We will see next year.

I agree with Jason here.... need to see 1-2 months of dominating at AA before he comes up, but when he does, there's a good chance that:  1) just skips AAA entirely, and 2) that it's for good.   June/July arrival

I say start him in AAA next year and let him put up monster numbers in the PCL for 2-3 months. If Pads need him and think he’s ready then give him the call.

Doesn't AAA use the major league ball now? If so I would be hesitant to start him there. He needs to learn and lock in the right way to hit. That might be less likely to happen if he is able to hit homers one-handed and with poor mechanics. Sure would be great for his confidence though!
