Did he walk or did he get a hit? It must be unreal for him to graduate from high school and be playing against major league guys. Wow.
I did the exact same thing...saw the next guy up get a hit and RH3 coming around to score but missed how he got on base.

Playing behind Manny Machado etc. just weeks after being drafted out of high school.
Almost "never" happens...

Quote from fenn68 on July 17, 2020, 9:08 amGuess would be FW to start since they may be a lot of options to sort through for LE.
Take about a half year to evaluate all the prospects and reset rosters mid-season.
The combination of likely dropping TC and limiting the AZR roster with missing the minor leagues in 2020 just may make them take a fresh look at the players who were anticipated in FW/LE in 2020 that ST can’t provide. Maybe not major prospects as Hassell but still an asset not to overlook.

Quote from fenn68 on July 17, 2020, 9:47 amRandom thoughts:
Marcano (2B) seems to have filled out a bit and does have a clue about hitting. Maybe justifies the Top 15 rating.
Miller does not have the arm for 3B ... and probably not SS. Looks like a future utility guy though with has calling card versatility with some hitting skills.
Trammell and Arias look a bit overmatched at the plate.
Head looks like a HS Junior facially ... but moves well in the OF and looks comfy at the plate. Athletic in the mold of Abrams and Hassell. Probably on the same timeline.
Watch out for Torrens ... coming soon. He looked good both swinging the bat and defensively. Really bigger physically than his Rule 5 days. Campusano also looked like a ML prospect coming soon (maybe not 2020). Mejia has some good ABs ... Hedges on the other hand still struggled with the bat.
All the pitchers need to sharpen their command.
Hard to make big judgements on two inter-squad games ... but no one came off looking flat out bad.

Quote from Brian Connelly on July 17, 2020, 9:55 amTrammell the debate coming in to ST was AAA or AA, and I was squarely in: repeat AA to face the better P prospects & sustain the success he didn't find till the last few weeks & playoffs last year; get a few months of success before up to AAA "finishing school".
Sounds like he & unsurprisingly Arias still need that. We can't just "wish" these guys up to MLB; may have to accept they get there 1 year older than we'd like due to Covid/no minors.

Quote from hoffy51 on July 18, 2020, 2:59 pmIt is astounding to me how amazing Josh Naylor looks. He went for Dough-boy to Oh-boy! That clip on Padres.com where he legs out a triple is unbelievable. I know he's not Alan Wiggins, but he moves around like an athlete now. Really impressed (It didn't improve his ability to throw from the outfield however)!

He looks completely different ... in shape and even facially he looks way more mature.
Scouting since HS said he will hit and at 22 with this new persona and 6 control years ... might be around awhile as at worst DH and maybe the successor to Hosmer.
Also, did see a very good play at 1B (ranged towards 2B) in the inter squad game.
