Man, Bellinger picking up right where he left off last year.....looking HORRIBLE!

Any word on where Beatty ended up?

Alfaro is growing on me.

Hustles down the line on a slow roller in a ST game……and hits Bombs!

Chandler Seagle,a 30th round pick,is at catcher.

Gotta love baseball.

Jose Azocar has some Ricky in him!

Kerr met with a bloop and a Ba-Last!

Had to look it up….. by size they are off by 1” and 1lb as listed.

If only he could break out and be 1/10 of Ricky.

😉

Beyond Nick Martinez all our other pitchers tonight are probably going to be reassigned to El Paso or released.  Nonetheless, they did okay.  Martinez got through the line-up once and the top of the line-up twice, so that was very solid effort.  Probably not ready for more than 5 anytime soon, so likely will be piggy-backed with a long reliever or another starter.  Nola and Alfaro looked decent but obviously Cronenworth and Voit need more work.  Thompson and Rosario probably played themselves off the team and Abrams showed why we should not rush him to the majors.  Got to get Grisham and Myers going - swing the bat at those pitches down the middle, guys!

Myers starting to show some life at the plate and Leyba quietly may have latched on to the infield depth spot at the beginning of the season.  Hasn't really clicked for Eguy or Hinojosa and Leyba, a switch-hitter, can play all infield positions though probably not as good a shortstop as Hinojosa.  Abrams likely won't start the season with the team, but predict he will be up before mid-season.

Mazara and Thompson not likely to make the 40-man but also start the season in El Paso in the event Beaty becomes too much of a defensive liability.

If we face a tough LHP, I'm wanting to have Nola, Voit and Alfaro in the line-up at the same time so despite assertions that Alfaro is only a catcher, he might go to the OF in other than an emergency situation.  Grisham starting poorly, so I can see Profar in CF versus LHP with Alfaro in LF and Myers in RF.

After a couple of good outings, Pagan starting to look like the end of the 2021 season Pagan.  Maybe dead-arm period for him and Musgrove, who did not look particularly sharp today.

How about Voigt at 1b,Nola at C and Alfaro at DH against Lefties?

I think you got it! That leaves Profar batting RH in LF.

Unless they come up with another decent RHH for the OF … Grisham probably plays against LHP.
