Bought tickets for the 3/7 game vs. the Angels and 3/8 vs. Reds.

So I guess I'm going to be in Peoria the week of March 6th.

Let me know who can make it this week......I'd love to buy you a beer.

Depending on work schedule, might not be able to make the game itself, but we can definitely find a place later in the afternoon to meet up, swap stories, and enjoy a couple of adult beverages.

Really looking forward to meeting you Mr. P!!

I may hang around the facility on Thurs or Friday also...may be quiet but I'm hoping I can spend some time in the back fields those days with the prospects.

I have no plans but will likely wake up one day and just drive to Peoria for a couple days

Saturdays are usually free days for me, so depending on your travel plans, that could work as well.

I'll update as soon as I make my travel arrangements.

17 days til P and C report 2/16

Would expect the “regulars” get a real slow ramp-up in ST … just enough game time to be ready for opening day and allow a lot of game time for contenders for bench roles (to start 2023 or call-ups).

The Padres have a view on each one but having the coaches seeing them in action this year can (will) change their opinions since few are slam dunk ML players even for the bench.

Can see Campusano and Severino getting the bulk of the early catching duties … Nola has been around long enough to not need the full ST and want to minimize the chance of ST injury to the starting C.

After that the position players should be dominated by the bench candidates and the EP roster contenders. Always fun to see who I have been too optimistic about and who the Padres like that makes me scratch my head.

Not a lot targeted for AAA/AA zone but we should see more of Howell and (only based on stats and being an under dog) Hollis who hit well in AA.

Howell to me is in that Estury Ruiz (only higher regarded since Howell is #9 atm and Ruiz was #30 to start 2022).. he was really starting to assert himself in May .922 and June .900 OPS last yr before getting injured.... I am cheering for him to be one of the "surprises" of ST

And just like that ST has begun ..for the behind the scene staff .. trucks being loaded and on their way to AZ
