Season Tickets?

Lived across the country and then across the world for a few years now....relocated back to SD and think I’m gonna bite the bullet and buy some season tickets. Have no idea how this works and I’m guessing a few knowledgeable FriarFaithful are here could help.

Few questions.

What plan do you have?

How much do they cost usually? Is there some negotiation with the sales rep or is it more of a set price?

What are other perks of membership?

How difficult is resale for games you can’t go to?

Can someone explain compadres points? Padres website is horrible at this

Hey!

Welcome back to San Diego!  I have been a season ticket holder for 10 seasons now and will try and answer your questions the best I can, but encourage you to check the Padres website for the best info:  Prospective Padres Members | San Diego Padres (mlb.com)

I have half season tickets (2 seats) in the Upper Ring and I believe the plan is called Gold A.  It includes Opening Day and then all Friday, Sunday and Wednesday games.

I  believe the price is around $800 total for the season but can be paid in installments.  The price is set but there are different installment plans to change the amount a little bit.

As far as the perks go, you get invited to member only events, 10% off food and merchandise in stadium, MLBTV membership annually,  discounted single game ticket prices (if you decide to buy more tickets to another game), additional fan points that can be used to "purchase" events and items, early entrance and special access to certain stadium locations and ticket flexibility (trade-in, resale, donations, unused ticket nights).

I have not really had an issue selling my tickets, but only sell weekend games that I can't attend and I monitor the price and drop it accordingly as the date of the game gets closer.  There are only a couple of times over the 10 years, that my tickets have not sold.  I live in North County and have a young child, so making it to more than 15 or so games a season is getting harder every year.  You can sell like 40% of your tickets and trade in like 40% of your tickets.  I usually trade in multiple Wednesday games to upgrade my seats or add additional seats on Friday or Sunday games, so I have better seats to around half the games I go to.

Compadres points can be used to "purchase" merchandise (usually past excess giveaways and sponsorship items), but can also be used to bid on auction items (autographed items, experiences) or used to join experiences (movies on the field, trips to Lake Elsinore, batting practice, etc.).  You get a certain amount based on your membership level and then can earn more based on games attended, codes entered for watching/listening to games and a couple other ways.

I am sure the cost will go up next season, but the demand for tickets should be increasing as well... It is finally a good time to be a Padres fan again, haha

Let me know if you have any other questions and welcome!

Hey! I recently went through this myself, and the process is actually pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

  • Plan & Cost: There are a few different season ticket plans depending on how many games you want and where you want to sit. Prices vary a lot by section and package, but most people find the sales reps are open to some discussion—especially if you’re flexible on seats or willing to commit to multiple years.

  • Perks: Season ticket membership usually comes with priority access to postseason tickets, special events, exclusive merchandise, and sometimes parking passes. Some packages even include invites to meet-and-greets or fan experiences.

  • Resale: The Padres have a pretty smooth resale platform built into your account. Games you can’t attend are usually easy to list and sell, though popular matchups obviously move faster.

  • Compadres Points: These are essentially loyalty points that you can redeem for perks like merchandise, experiences, or even upgrades. It’s a bit confusing at first, but once you log in to your account and explore the rewards section, it starts to make sense.

Overall, I’ve found season tickets to be totally worth it, especially if you enjoy catching a lot of games live. Hope this helps!
