San Diego Padres at Toronto Blue Jays: May 20-22

Padres lose 14-0. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Sloppy defense and an offense that can't hit.

Now, Shildt takes both Tatis and Bogaerts out and then brings in Wade to pitch?

Well I picked a bad day to go see the boys play while I'm in Toronto. That might have been the worst game I've seen in person.

Not much positive to say.

That was probably Machado's worst day ever. Clearly his defense (both the errors and just lackluster plays) but he had two early chances for RBI with Arraez in scoring position ... did not deliver. Then got his two hits when nothing else was going on ... so his stat like is .500 AVG belying his poor game.

He seems in a daze lately ... not really into the game. I know many say he is a slow starter then heats up ... but nearing the 1/3 point of the seasons. As the self proclaimed leader on this team he needs to be the catalyst to get the team out of this funk ....

Merrill also seems lost recently ... #3 and #4 hitters floundering is sub-optimal.

Is it time for Schildt to juggle the line-up, at least for a game or 2?

He's gotta try something. As has been said, they look comatose. I noticed everyone trying to yank every swing to the pull side. Guys are pressing too hard.

Game 3 Lineup
1. Tatis RF
2. Arraez DH
3. Machado 3B
4. Merrill CF
5. Sheets 1B
6. Cronenworth 2B
7. Diaz C
8. Iglesias SS
9. Lockridge LF

Kolek P

Just when you think things are looking up, we go down by 2.

Very next inning, we go 1-2-3, all via the K.

Did somebody shag somebody else's wife/girlfriend???????

That doesn't appear to be a cohesive team out there.

Well give Kolek some credit ... he went 6 innings with only 3 ER with a strong recovery from problems (including Sheets' error) in the middle innings ... this against one of the better hitting teams in MLB. Remember he is the #5 SP, so well done for a #5.

Offense is missing again ... except for the 2 run HR by Sheets ... against a very poor starter for TOR.

This has gone from bad to ridiculous to embarrassing!

Unbelievable! When the Padres are finally scoring, the pitching could not hold the Jays. First time this season the Padres are swept in back-to-back series. What happened to the pitching? Through April they were lights out. Now, they look different. Tired?

The Padres are 20-21 since goung 7-0.

Kudos for Sheets going 3 for 5 and 5 RBI

Estrada gets the perfect double playground ball he needed, except….. the infield was in because…….. well, does anyone have any idea why the infield was in there?
