San Diego Padres at Los Angeles Dodgers: June 16-19
Quote from ultratvfan on June 19, 2025, 10:36 pmPadres win a nail biter to prevent a sweep. Kept me on the edge of my seat.
What a wild bottom of the 8th with Roberts pushing Schildt. I have never seen a manager pushing another manager before.Bergert was outstanding. I wish he wasn't out after 4.2 IP. But, fortunately it worked out.
This was Bogaerts night going 4 for 4 and 1 RBI. I wish he had gone 4 for 4 last night.
Johnson seems to be hitting better thean last season. Since he has returned this season he has gone 3 for 6. Yes, I know it is just a small sample, but I hope he continues to hit.The Padres don't play the Dodgers again until August 15 in L.A.
Padres head back home to face the Royals and Nats.
GO PADRES!

Aug 15th, HBP under/over 1.5, anyone wants to take a shot at this? By the way, everybody keeps talking about how the Iglesias HBP wasn't intentional because he isn't one of the main guys, but, Isn't something that Dave Roberts would do? Sounds like a perfect crime, I am under the impression that Doc likes to play the innocent part, so he can get away with anything.

The whole thing stinks Mr P, that is for sure, It was 5-0, not 10-0.

I can't stand Dave Roberts, but I don't think he had any master plan to try to save guys from retaliation in this case. If he did he wouldn't have left Ohtani in. I think he was essentially conceding the game and decided to get his stars a little time off of their feet. If he did plan it we should probably thank him. We got to see Rojas and Rushing instead of Betts and Smith with the game on the line.

Quote from WindsorUK on June 20, 2025, 6:23 pmCan anyone explain how Roberts doesn't get suspended for shoving Schildt? He bolted straight out of the dugout, straight towards Schildt, next thing you know, Mike is going backwards.
I'd say I can't believe it but this is the Do no wrong Duds. MLB can't soil their golden goose.
What a joke.

Dave Roberts was suspended for 1 day as was Schildt. Suarez was suspended for 3 days

He pinch hit for the position players so they wouldn’t be on the field in the top of the next inning if benches cleared.
No reason to pull the DH
Seems weird to pull three of your best hitters only down by five. They almost came back without him, but what might’ve happened if they left them in?
Guessing the Dodgers have scored five runs in an inning many times even this year
It’s just weird

Freeman is still clearly hobbled by his ankle injury. Betts has a fractured toe. I think Smith has been banged up too. 5-0 with 5 outs left I don't find it hard to believe that Roberts just decided to get them out early and give some bench guys an AB. Betts was talking to Tatis outside of the scrum. It was a little weird and I can understand the thought process. It just feels like we're trying to invent another reason to be mad.

Maybe, but its the bums, we don't need extra reasons to be mad about. 🙂
