Am I the only one that doesn’t think it’s a coincidence that he pulled out Freeman, Betts, Smith, and then threw at Tatis?

The whole thing stinks Mr P, that is for sure, It was 5-0, not 10-0.

I can't stand Dave Roberts, but I don't think he had any master plan to try to save guys from retaliation in this case. If he did he wouldn't have left Ohtani in. I think he was essentially conceding the game and decided to get his stars a little time off of their feet. If he did plan it we should probably thank him. We got to see Rojas and Rushing instead of Betts and Smith with the game on the line.

He pinch hit for the position players so they wouldn’t be on the field in the top of the next inning if benches cleared.

No reason to pull the DH

Seems weird to pull three of your best hitters only down by five. They almost came back without him, but what might’ve happened if they left them in?

Guessing the Dodgers have scored five runs in an inning many times even this year

It’s just weird

Freeman is still clearly hobbled by his ankle injury. Betts has a fractured toe. I think Smith has been banged up too. 5-0 with 5 outs left I don't find it hard to believe that Roberts just decided to get them out early and give some bench guys an AB. Betts was talking to Tatis outside of the scrum. It was a little weird and I can understand the thought process. It just feels like we're trying to invent another reason to be mad.

Kurt Bevacqua sure thought that was the reason.

Well he did play in an era where guys actually fought on occasion. These guys are doing podcasts together before the games.

A couple probably had dinner together after that. 🙁
