San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies: Sept 5-7

The Padres nearly blew a big lead, but hung on to snap a 5 game losing streak and move up to 1 game back of the Dodgers.
They need to win the rubber match tomorrow,

Padres win. Dodgers lose and I got to see Trevor close out the Bananas game. It's been a rough stretch, but today was a pretty good day.

Yep he got the full Hells Bells treatment and jogged in from the bullpen to get the last out of the game. The park went crazy. It was awesome.

We just lost five games in a row and we’re still only one game behind the Dodgers. Can look at that two different ways. Just a couple wins and we could be in first but, considering the way we’ve played, we still sit in very good position considering the Dodgers play the Giants seven times still this month
They can’t both win those seven games

Let's hope Dylan doesn't give up too many runs in his 4 innings. And let's hope the boys bring their bats with them tonight.

After losing 9 of the last 11 games, the Padres are turning it around winning 2 in a row and only 1 game behind the Dodgers.
Now, we can say goodbye to Coors field for the 2025 season as the they head home for a 7 game homestand beginning with the Reds and 4 games with the Rockies.

How did Cease look? And why did he get pulled after 5 innings? Not getting into the 6th, in September, is a bad sign.
He's had, what, 6 or 7 months to build up his endurance?
Not to overstate the obvious but the organization needs to figure out a better way to handle its SP.
