RHP Nick Pivetta(13-4, 2.84 ERA, 167 K, .188 BAA) vs LHP Kyle Freeland (3-14, 5.41 ERA, 97 K, .309 BAA)Saturday, September 6 - 5:10pm, TV: San Diego Cox 83
?HP ???(---, -.-- ERA, --- K, .--- BAA) vs RHP McCade Brown(0-2, 8.22 ERA, 5 K, .323 BAA)Sunday, September 7 - 12:10am, TV: San Diego Cox 83
RHP Dylan Cease(6-11, 4.81 ERA, 190 K, .240 BAA) vs RHP Tanner Gordon(5-5, 6.07 ERA, 41 K, .315 BAA)The Padres are coming off a sweep by the Orioles and their lowest point of the season losing 8 of the last 10 games. They always did have trouble with AL teams. But, somehow, they still remain 2 games back thanks to the Pirates sweeping the Dodgers. I am surprised that the Dodgers won only 2 games in the 4 game series agaisnt the Rockies.
The Padres need to turn it around as they head to Colorado for the last time this season to play the worst team in MLB. But, they need to play well against them. On paper, the pitching favors the Padres, especially with the possible return of King. The Padres did play well against them this season sweeping them at Petco in April and winning 2 of 3 in Colorado in May.
While the Padres are playing the Rockies to get back on track in winning, the Dodgers head to Baltmore to battle the Orioles. Let's hope they sweep the Dodgers like they did to the Padres.

Quote from ultratvfan on September 5, 2025, 8:04 pmPivetta pitches a great game and once again the offense could not get it done. They have lost 9 of the last 11 games.
The Dodgers lose. The Padres lose. Well, they did not lose ground and still 2 games back.
Padres need to start winning tomorrow with Vasquez on the mound.
GO PADRES!

The Giants are getting dangerously close though.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on September 5, 2025, 9:41 pmThat was pathetic. The Dodgers are trying to give away the division and we are refusing to take it. They may actually be in danger of choking away the playoffs if they don't get it together soon.

Quote from ultratvfan on September 6, 2025, 7:20 pmJust when I thought the Dodgers were going win after Yamamoto pitches a no hitter into 2 outs in the 9th, the O's scored 4 times starting with Holliday's HR off Yamamoto and then 3 more off Treinen and Scott for the win. That's baseball.
Now, let's hope the Padres don't blow a 10-3 lead.
