Padres vs Royals May 15-17

12 baserunners through 4 innings….and only 3 runs scored.
The Royals are trying to get blown out and we just aren’t cooperating.

Forget about Odor vs KC or Keller ... Carpenter and Cruz have cratered in the past 15 days ... so not much of an alternative tonight. Oh yeh, Engle is 0/4.
Not sure how long they continue with Cruz who seems to be able to hit the FB a bit but can't hit a breaking ball anymore ... his age and a one demential player with his performance would have some other player DFA if the Padres had someone in AAA that could do better ... they don't ... so?

Not sure where Orsillo is….and I love me some Jesse…but Don missing this performance by Wacha could be something he forever regrets.
Currently 3-0 bottom of 6th.

Tatis trying to score with bases loaded and no outs was not very smart... should have been 5-0 or more with Soto BB amd Xander dibbler....
But hey .. kind of hard to hit someone that is all over the place..

Actually that was a lucky play for KC all around. It was a fortunate bounce for Perez, as he was boxing blocks all night and the ball didnt get as far away as other bad pitches. I can understand the call from the umpire, since the ball was there so early for the tag. And KC was lucky in the fact that Melvin didnt challenge the play, as it looked to me in the replay that Tatis moved his leg enough that Tatis got his leg around Perez tag.
So that was a hustle play by Tatis that works out 9 out of 10 times. No problem with that decision from Tatis.

We won that game despite our best efforts.
Only 5 hits...no extra base hits....and we were gifted something like TWELVE baserunners and could still only score 4.
We did finally get ONE hit with RISP.
Not sure how many opportunities we had....but it was a bunch.
Thank goodness the Royals can't hit.

I dont to change Tatis aggressiveness or style ..I agree 💯 with everything you said.. and if I am sending Soto on that SF the other day I am 💯 ok with the aggressiveness of this play..
BUT situational wise and with the way their SP was throwing unless that ball is clearly far away from Salvy.. I aint moving.. I get it 99% of the time, vs a regular SP.. but this dude P style is wild/ wild/ double play.. so when he is off that just let him operate the Ferris Wheel

With Manny (swelling probably) likely to miss today I would like to see
1 Tatis RF
2 Jake 1B
3 Xander SS
4 Soto LF
5 Odor 2B (dude is barreling everything outs or not atm)
6. Carp/Cruz DH.. Carp Lazer just fouled gave me hope
7. Kim 3B
8. Grish CF
9. Sully C (Nola had a solid game but Yu tomorrow day game)
